Live. Laugh. Love all the animals!

Pet care experience

I am a zoologist in the making! My life has been intertwined with an array of animals and dogs are my specialty. From my very first dog Harley—a precious pure dachshund with stinky breath. . . to my second dog Whitney—a howler at heart and full blue tick hound dog. . . then my third dog Chloe—an elderly bow legged rescue hound mix, who my mother and I discovered at the beginning of our road lying in a field of grass completely exhausted and in desperate need of care and lovin’ . . . to my own personal dog (landing 4th doggo place) AND best friend, Bowser—a mixture of beagle, pit, pointer, and more, was a whoppin’ $4 at the local humane society and is still the best purchase I’ve made thus far in my life . . . to my mothers rescue and indefinitely considered my dog too, Basil (or “Nae Nae” coming in 5th place)—the sweetest butt rubbing driven bulldog and lab mix . . . and the second to last, is my mother’s dog, who I have taken care of throughout his existence and his name is, Hofner— a pure long-haired German shepherd who requires so much and who has been to doggie training classes with my mother and I both present, where I was able to grasp knowledgeable tactics. The final dog, who is now my only pet (Bowser passed away from Stomach Cancer, recently) is named, Jasper, better yet “Jazz the Spazz” — who is a nearly full blooded American Terrier, aka Pit Bull, who has no desire to understand personal space, due to his driven need for love and affection. He will turn the impossible snuggle area into the possible one and not let anyone or anything get in his way of illustrating his form of love. Let’s not forget to include my family’s—including myself—our two cats. Tigger was a tabby house cat and he defined the term “lone wolf.” Nickalina is a full blood Maine Coon rescued from Ukraine; where the journey to the U.S., thankfully landed her in our care. As for other peoples unique creatures in my care, the list ranges from snakes, to bearded dragons, fish, ferrets, parrots, and of course the good ‘ol doggies and cats. Oddly enough, Bowser sniffed out a toad one frosty nightfall during our nightly routine of “potty break/smell as much as possible” and there revealed my next creature who I would love and care for. She was a toad. A full blown, bumpy lumpy, amphibian who Bowser would chill with from time to time. Her eyelids were nearly frozen shut, but I brought her inside and placed her in a glass bowl with a small amount of room temp water to encourage comfort and not place her in shock. I placed it under a lamp and checked on her every few minutes till her eyes were wide open. She never revealed any uncertainty toward me and my intentions. Whether she knew she was safe or had lived a long life already (their lifespan can fulfill 11 years of toady experience) . . . Naula (Na-La: means “miracle” from an African lineage) survived a little over a year in her 10 gallon tank of a home, while also having moments of freedom in different environments. I had two turtles—Dude and KeKe—and I had them for many years and planned to transition them into a bigger tank to initiate more surface growth, rather than limit their abilities in a 10 gallon tank; though, I ended up having to move and they were placed in a good friends care. My aquariums have held an assortment of fish, sucker fish, AND a tiny frog who made lots of friends. Overall, my love for all sorts of living organisms holds no boundary. I’m not keen on spiders or roaches, but some have been gifted more chances at life from my random moments of “feeling bad” and the fundamental “capture and release” method. Therefore, I obtain an internal significance toward life in general, no matter the subject in existence. If I am not knowledgeable in a specific line of duty/work/task—I research and implement my findings with a full heart and awareness of other relatable factors. Challenges that come my way, only add to my intelligence and experience in this flashing life we have been gifted to LIVE.

Priscilla was wonderful. She kept us up to date multiple times a day, with texts, pictures, and videos. Her daughter Isla is absolutely adorable and well behaved and helped take care of my boy as well! Priscilla went above and beyond and even cleaned up the house and washed the sheets she had used. Entirely unnecessary but so appreciated. We will absolutely use Priscilla again and again!

I am in the process of searching for my own place outside of my mother’s house and into my and Isla’s own place. I am still deciding where exactly and heavily weighing all options, but the location will still remain in the same city or county; and when there is a decision made, I will post an update. I do not feel comfortable bringing other dogs to my mothers home, due to Hofner, her German Shepard, struggling with his role in the household and acting upon his instincts to be overly protective of my mother and her room and vocalizing to others he is aware of their closeness and can sense fear of uncertainty. Therefore, the possible attack from his own uncertainty of others or animals, as well as, his anxiety of holding the boss title within the household could be a result. My mother is a Nurse Practitioner and has a very busy schedule and lots of love toward, Hofner. He is amazing around Isla, though he needs more help in order to ease his stress and instinctive role as “BOSS.” We have to keep him and Jasper separate (wasn’t always this way), but Jasper has shown his willingness and desire to interact with other animals. Him and Bowser were always around each other. Though, I will be leaving my dog at home and can easily initiate ways for him to be taken care of while I am taking care of yours. If there is a will, there is a way!

Information Priscilla C. would like to know about your pet

Communication will always win. Knowledge prior to me visiting a clients house, whether it be about the house itself or the animals within, is crucially important to ensure preparation for the next adventure. My guarantee for the animals safety and all their requirements being met, plus some… is not possible if I am not properly communicated with. I want all the animals to feel and know they are safe while being given the care they deserve. The more I am made aware pertaining to one’s animals will result in better aspects as a whole. I do not have this job just because I love animals. I have this job because I am confident with myself when taking care of all animals. I care about others, humans and animal forms, in a broad spectrum. I have always been more in tune with animals when given the time and experience with them. I have been around numerous scenarios, good and bad, throughout these many years and required myself to learn from all experiences and remember important factors. A better me, as a human and as an animal lover/caretaker, will always be driven goals for me. There will ALWAYS be more to learn in this life—about humans, about ourself, about our planet, about ANIMALS, and SO ON!!!!!!

A typical day

A typical day would include an array of different possibilities which are based upon the animal’s own experiences, routines, desires, etc.! Majority of dogs including those within the same breed can display different personalities. WILD RIGHT? For an average outlook upon fun activities: —Toys… I will find out quickly which one is their “favorite” and can interact with them during different times to keep their energy levels and happiness where they need to be, rather than remaining stagnant and glued to a television or my smartphone. -WALKS! BOY OH BOY!!!! The places to discover. Some dogs will require a known and repeated route made by their parents that will allow them to be more at ease or up their energy levels a tad bit from the pure excitement. All dogs love to find new smells on their path! Therefore, if I am given the okay by the parents… I am curiously driven to discover more pathways to benefit both the animals and myself.

I am currently employed part-time as a server and a fill in manager. I have been an employee of Mullet Bay Restaurant almost 10 years! Thankfully, I can manage a flexible work schedule in order to find a better balance with my college schedule, life in general, and especially time with my daughter as a single mother. I am a college student and currently enrolled in the only university within Glynn County, Georgia, known as the, College of Coastal Georgia. My daughter, Isla Rose, is 4 years old. If the need for my presence involves an overnight stay (my daughter is solely my responsibility and will be an addition to the overnight stay, which frames my full confidence in her respectful manners and prior understanding towards the treatment of animals from personal experience and her general love for all—BUT, there can be arrangements made if homeowner/pets parent(s) are not comfortable with her inclusion). Whether my daughter is in my care or not, all animals that are in my future care will be making a friend (if the opportunity is consistent, I am aware it can take some time for the ones that require that additional time to build trust so my presence and actions are verified in their eyes) and I will represent the friend that they can rely on, feel safe around, will feed them when given instruction to, an expertise in scratches, and knows how to some fun. Your animal illustrating happiness through gestures and so on, as well as their safety as a whole, is my guarantee.
