UNIQUE and PROFESSIONAL DOG CARE

Pet care experience

Hello, My name is Priscila. I live right on the edge of Culver City, CA. Having undergone advanced screening, I have been met face-to-face and my home has been inspected. I have always had a passion for pets and especially for dogs. I'm here to help pet sit your loved ones and make sure they are in good care - and of course happy and well loved! I have been a pet sitter more that 4 years now. I have done pet sitting for family members as well neighbors, acquaintances, and those folks referred to me by my clients. My service is very unique and professional. The price listed is for 24 hour care.

Priscila took great care of CJ and was very accommodating. Glad we found her. We'll definitely return.

We had some concerns and issues with Priscila that we hoped were just us. Reading other comments, it appears we are not alone and we wanted to raise these concerns with you and share with anyone who may want to use your services in the future. Normally, we would not make a fuss, but the problems compounded and she seemed resistant, complacent, and unconcerned when we contacted her about our concerns during our time using her services. I will go through as much detail as possible about each incident and we are happy to provide screenshots or any other proof as needed. It began at the meet and greet. At the meet and greet, Priscila brought along her boyfriend, whom she lives with, to the visit. She presented it as a safety concern on her part, which we had no problem with. During the meet and greet, we gave her detailed instructions on what we needed. We explained the feeding schedule, how we feed them around 7:30 am and 8:30pm (approx 12 hours apart) and that we feed them separately with a door closed between them. We asked that since one cat is skittish that they leave the apartment, just wait in the hallway for 5-10 min, so that the cat would feel comfortable eating, then come back and let the other cat out. We showed them the routine in detail and told her that if she had any questions or concerns about our instructions, that she could call us and we would gladly go over it again. We even left our number on a bright yellow sticky note on the door where they retrieved the food. We also asked that she would scoop the litter after dinner feeding each night. In addition, we showed her the Furbo (a treat camera that we have set up) and that we would be checking in periodically on the cats (not on them) and to be aware that it was there. Before the first visits even happened, she asked if she and her boyfriend could come by at 5:30am, 2 hours before we usually feed the cats. We explained that it was way too early and asked her to come by closer to 7:30 am, she seems resistant to this request but complied. Upon the first visit to feed our cats, we noticed that she had brought her boyfriend again. She seemed to have brought him to every consequent visit and to have split the duties with him. Normally, this would not have been an issue, however, she did not really give us the heads up this would be happening, ask if we were comfortable with it, and to be honest, it was a concern for us because he is not registered with the company and not vetted by Rover. During the first visit, she separated the cats for feeding and then promptly left our apartment to go to other visits. As mentioned above, we have a Furbo in the apartment. When we checked the camera to check on our cats, about 5 hours after she and her boyfriend came to feed them in the morning, we noticed that the door was still closed and the cats were still separated. Again, this was 5 hours since the first visit. We noticed that they had left our other cat locked in the room. We immediately contacted her and asked that she let the other cat out because there is no water in the other room. She replied that she could not remember if she let the other cat out and that both and she and her boyfriend were unable to go back and rectify this mistake for another few hours. She did not seem concerned or apologetic in the least that one of our cats would be locked up without water for 7+ hours without water. This was very concerning to us. She eventually had her boyfriend stop by alone and let our other cat out. He did not stop by until sometime after 3pm to 4pm, almost 8 hours after leaving her locked in the room. There was no apology or ownership taken for this mistake. After the first visits, there was a drastic change in her attitude and the amount of communication. She only really sent us the bare minimum updates through the app and she was slow (or absent) in her responses. We noticed that they only scooped the litter once (maybe twice) over the course of the 5 days she was hired for. Again, this is concerning for the health and safety of our cats. We also noticed that she did not spend even close to the 30 minutes time slot that we paid for during the visits. Her visits seemed to have lasted between 5 minutes to 12 minutes a piece, which we do not feel was enough time to allow both cats to eat their fill before being reunited. What was even more troubling was that after the first visit, they came to feed the cats, and instead of stepping out for ten minutes while they ate in separate rooms and coming back immediately to let them reunite, they left for hours to finish other visits before returning to let the cat out of the room ( which did not have water). We tried to ask politely if they could stay the allotted time instead of visiting others before completing our visit but they were non-responsive. When we reached out to ask about how the keys would be returned to us on Monday 12/27, there was no communication back until the next day, Tuesday is 12/28. We arrived home later that night, around 11:30pm on Monday 12/27, with no response from her. We discovered that she had left the keys on the counter and only locked the bottom lock. (The non-deadbolt lock which can be easily broken into) She finally replied to our text on Tuesday, 12/28 saying that she had left the keys on the counter. At this point we were already home and had seen them. This made us feel very uncomfortable that she did not take the time to let us know this was her plan before leaving the keys and we certainly would not have asked her to do this. Overall, we were unsatisfied with her service. We though she would be a good fit after the meet and greet and after seeing how highly reviewed she was. However, in our experience, she and her boyfriend seemed to have not even met the bare minimum of what we asked and put our cats health and safety at risk. We felt that they did not care for our pets as they would have even their own, and that we could have hired a stranger (with no background or knowledge of pet care) to look after our pets and they would have been taken care of better and followed our simple instructions. It is extremely disappointing and worrying to us that these incidents happened and that we had no way of taking any recourse until after we got home for fear or retaliation taken against our defenseless and innocent animals. We will not be booking with Priscilla in the future and we kindly ask that we be refunded the fees for the services provided considering she did not meet the minimum requirements we asked of her in addition to the lack of communication, taking responsibility over her actions, and poor responses to our concerns. We understand that sometimes mistakes happen, but the compounding mistakes along with the clear and polite communication from our end was not met in kind. TLDR; Overall, she seems to have done this with several other customers, was completely unphased by locking our cat in a room without food or water for over 7+ hours. She never apologized or took responsibility, only blamed it on us and acted like it was an inconvenience. It appears this is the same attitude as her responses to others that have critiqued her services in the reviews. Overall we would not recommend using her.

Priscila and her husband were great! They watched Cubby and Mish for almost 2 weeks and were super communicative, attentive, and sent pictures / videos every day. They pups came back clean and happy! Would recommend to anyone.

I’m thankful Priscila was available on holiday days to drop in to take care of Muffin but each visit lasted 7-10 minutes max which is fairly disappointing. I don’t believe she cleaned the litter box at all either. It appears she dropped in fed her and left which isn’t what I would want or have experienced with other Rover’s. She also left no updates or notes whereas other past Rovers have. Overall, thankful she was taken care of but it appears it was the absolute bare minimum.

I like to make sure your dog does not feel a lone or unsafe while your away. Making sure that your pet is happy spending time with me by having someone to pet them or having some fetch time. Leaving a pet alone cannot always be okay. They have anxiety whey they hear many noises that might make them think that your are around and make them excited with high hopes. That's when I come in. They will know that they have someone to walk them, play with them and have some dinner together. It's the best to keep a pet happy!
