Hiya! My name is Pooja and I’m 35 years old. I’m a Spanish teacher in lower Manhattan, NY. I love singing, dancing, exercising, and going for long walks. I believe that having a dog or cat in one’s life can help with one’s emotional well-being. When I had my dog (Buster) and cat (Jasmine), we were very attuned to each other. I would have so much fun playing with my fur babies. With Buster we would go outside for walks and play in the grass when it was sunny outside or play in the mounds of snow when it snowed. With my cat I’d throw a small jingling ball and she would chase it all around the house. I also would spend time petting or brushing them. I have had the honor of taking care of them when they were sick, applying medications (both were very old), special diets, and home-cooked meals when necessary. My dog Buster has really taught me a lot about myself and other dogs. He had been previously owned by another family. He was a blessing when he came to me, however he arrived with very severe issues. I understood his pain and trauma as I’ve been there before and we found a safe family in each other with a foundation of trust and love. He was helping a family with a child who has a disability and visited me when he could. He past away August 06, 2021 with family and people who loved him. He is buried by a peach tree continuing to spread his love. He will always be my sweet, sweet fur baby. My cat, Jasmine, was also adopted, but from a shelter. She also arrived to me with some trust issues. We both got along very well with each other. She would always protect me, sleep next me every night, and even loved Buster when he joined us. Unfortunately, she became very ill and had a wonderful 12 years alive. It hasn’t been the same and she is very much missed. Your fur babies are precious children to me. Working as a teacher for over 15 years and being a fur parent for just as long I realized that they are innocent, pure and loving beings. Patience, consistency and understanding are important in both worlds. Teaching lifelong skills to help them feel successful in the community is also important. They deserve love, kindness and are worthy in this life! When your fur babies are with me, they will be treated as if they are my children too. I’m excited to get to know them! My boyfriend, Jonathan, also loves animals. He helps me love and care for them just as if your fur babies are his fur babies. He has experience taking care of dogs and cats including providing exercise and play time.
