Polly was a lifesaver for me! I have a reactive dog who really is very sweet but can act out in a very negative and frightening way. I found Polly and with her years of experience fostering and dealing with pups with "issues" I knew I had found hope! She accepted the challenge and I knew my Bucket was in good hands. She certainly knows how to interact with and respect a dog's boundaries. She displays a calm confidence and dogs pick up on that. She was so patient with my dog and just let him come out of his shell when he was ready. She's the dog whisperer! I highly recommend Polly as a great temporary dog mom.

I met Polly S. in 2014. She was a recent transplant to Pittsburgh from Denver. She applied to adopt a dog from the 501(c)3 rescue with which I am associated. Her application was good, our interview conversations and a subsequent meet and greet were excellent. Polly did not adopt that dog as he was a foster fail (the family fostering him adopted him). However, I was impressed with Polly's obvious care for and commitment to dogs and recruited her as a foster for our organization. Since then she has fostered many dogs for us and I count her as an animal loving colleague and friend. Polly owns her home and has a nice, level, fenced yard. She has a wealth of experience over the years with her own dogs and with foster dogs. If a foster dog comes to her with behavioral or health issues, she is proactive in finding out what their needs might be and implementing means to fulfill them. If a dog of a breed or mix she's not familiar with comes to her she does due diligence getting to know more about that breed and their proclivities. In addition to her animal skills Polly has good interpersonal skills with people. She is courteous and forthright and has an open, friendly manner, making people comfortable and putting them at ease.
