Pet care experience
Hello! I have been an animal advocate for as long as I can remember, from sending money to the WOrld Wildlife Fund to being a member of Greenpeace, to bringing home strays and mutts. I grew up in Italy and my travels took me to places where animal cruelty (and deep affection too) turned my world upside down. I have found balance between my work as an educator and writer by taking care of animals and living long-term with my 4-legged clients. Some of them were highly problematic (geriatric, deaf, blind, biters) but my deep empathy got through to them, and over the years my clients have doubled and remained constant. They trust me and I give them my word. It's that simple. One of my least favorite petsitting stories was when a regular client and dear friend called me sobbing, telling me her in-house video was proof that the cat sitter never did her job. I drove 20 miles south to help them out, happily.

Polly loves animals and she has a beautiful connection with them. She is attentive and very professional and send us pictures and updates every few hours. She always stays in our apt and we feel really secure knowing that our animal is in good hands while we are away. Polly is simply the best and I highly recommend her!
In the last 2 years Polly has been my go-to person to take care of our 2 (fussy) cats, as well as my daughter when I had to go away for professional reason (I have been a single mom for those years and active academic). She has had the keys to my house since day one, and I trust her with all matters. She is highly reliable, great with pets as well as humans, compassionate and thorough in her care. She has for a few years taken care of my friends' cats and dogs, as well as done long-term house-sitting (one year for one, 8 months for another). And she was the only person friends of mine could trust to take care of their aging and ailing dog when away. Your pets and house will be in the best of hands.
I am delighted to recommend Polly, who house- and pet-sat for my family on a number of occasions over the course of about three years. I can categorically say that she is the best sitter we have ever had. She actually left the house nicer-- smelling better, extremely clean, well-organized-- than she found it. She was also the only person we trusted with our elderly and infirm chihuahua mix, whom she cared for with warmth, intelligence, and extraordinary kindness. Our younger dog, a more energetic type, just adored her too. Moreover, she is both calm and reliable, and great with dogs who have need extra attention. I give Polly my most enthusiastic and heartfelt endorsement!
