Pet care experience
I love spending time with dogs (looking at, playing with, belly rubs, etc.) I have had mostly big dogs growing up so I am confident I have the strength to walk them. I currently have one small dog and many guinea pigs to care for. I love all animals and would care for any small pets as well as dogs.

I live in an apartment that’s right by the ala wai, so there is plenty of grassy areas to walk and a dog park right down the road. My small dog can only handle short walks because she gets tired, but I would love to take a run or jog with a more energetic pup! I feed my dog in the morning but she leaves a little bit of food in the bowl for night time. My guinea pigs are fed once about every 5 hours. I am flexible on feeding times for any animals I care for.

It’s always important to know what favorite toys they have, their potty break schedule, and their cooperation level with other dogs. If they aren’t as comfortable around many dogs, I wouldn’t bring them to the dog park and maybe opt for a smaller trail area instead. Knowing which vet to take them to in the case of an emergency is a must as well.
A typical day
Dogs always love going to the park to meet other friends (if they have all their shots and it’s ok with the owners). I like playing frisbee and fetch with them to get their energy out and then take them back inside for some water and a good nap. There’s a nice strip of a grassy area next to the walking trail outside my house for quick potty breaks and some exercise.

I am currently working part-time, so I’ll have many days where I’m off in a row. Even when working, I’m always home for lunch breaks and rarely leave my house completely for more than a few hours just to check up on pets.
