Pet care experience
I have worked with animals since I was 14 years old when I began working in my fathers veterinary practice, doing treatments, shots, taking blood, and just walking the animals. For the past dozen years, we have watched, pets for neighbors, friends, and family. With nine adult children, there’s always a pet to take care of. We have been foster parents to mama dogs with Homeward Bound. We simply love animals.

I was very pleased with James and Maria with the care they gave my dog Bowser. I left Bowser with them and he was not feeling well and they tried all they could to make him comfortable. They were very concerned for him and did all they could to settle his anxiety. Thank you James and Maria.

We have an acre property in a quiet subdivision. We do have a dog door that opens into a fenced backyard. We also have woods with walking trails and a mile long, hiking trail along the Yellowbreeches. We do allow pets on the furniture as well as in our bed, if your pet is comfortable with that. If your pet is more comfortable in their crate at night, that is fine with us as well. Your pet will get lots of exercise and multiple daily walks. If we are pet sitting in your home, we will abide by all your household rules and requests. It’s all about making your pet feel safe and comfortable while you are away.

A typical day
We love outside time. We go for walks in our neighborhood and on the hiking trail along the Yellow Breeches creek. We have a large park within walking distance and a nice dog park just a few minutes drive away. We also love to play fetch and interactive treat games.

My husband and I are young retired professionals. We are available full-time day and night. We walk every day, so lots of exercise will be provided, if that’s what your pet likes.
