Pet care experience
Hi! I'm Phil, a current resident of the Marcy Holmes neighborhood in Minneapolis where I have lived for almost five years. While I was born in Columbus Ohio, my formative years including secondary education were spent in MN before leaving to study vocal performance at Texas Tech University. I returned in 2010 and have called MN my home ever since. I have been housesitting for my friends and family for over a decade and have a proven track record of loving on animals, (including a Quaker Parrot) and keeping plants alive. I want to extend my services to those within my community that require a safe, communicative, and empathetic individual to watch over their most cherished animals and belongings. I’ve been told empathy is my superpower and tend to be most attracted and congruent with people that are unapologetically authentic and vulnerable. I’m no Brené Brown but I try my best to be curious, compassionate, and use whatever privilege I have in this world to make as many positive ripples as possible along the way. In my free time I love to write, get lost in the woods, and make snack reviews on TikTok. Please feel free to contact me for an initial conversation to see if I might be able to help with your pet or housesitting needs.

Phil was amazing. He stayed with our two dogs for two weeks and took great care of them. It was
Thank you, Phil, dog sitter extraordinaire. Phil took excellent care of our senior Border Terrier, Charlie, age 16. Charlie is at times very easy to care for as he naps often and other times can be challenging as he has routines and meds and supplements and meals that must be followed at certain times of the day. (Charlie’s rule!) Phil’s patience and ingenuity and attention to detail kept Charlie happy and on track. Phil was in regular contact while we were away sending much appreciated updates and photos to show that all was well at home while we traveled abroad. Also our home was very well cared for by Phil. On our return, he welcomed us with a beautiful fall bouquet. We highly recommend Phil for in-home pet sitting. He was thorough and kind and responsible. We hope he will care for Charlie again on our next trip.
Phil was an amazing pet sitter for my 13 yr old Wheaten Terrier and 4 yr old Yorkie. The Yorkie is a rescue and fearful of most men but was drawn to Phil from the first meet and greet. Phil has a gentle and sweet demeaner that I think drew him in. He was also able to administer the necessary medications for the 13 yr old dog. I know I made the right choice with Phil and would definitely recommend him to other families.
Phil has watched our elderly Jack Russell many times in our home. Lola is always calm and content when we return from our travels and the house is left neat and tidy. He is very good with her sometimes spiky temperament and provides all the care she needs, from walks to meals. I would recommend Phil as a dog and house sitter.

I leave most of the details up to the client depending on the needs of the pet(s) and the home. I request that instructions are in writing and are gone over beforehand to cover any nuances or clarifying questions I may have so I can give you the best service possible. I also can offer plant/garden watering services if needed as well.

Information Philip W. would like to know about your pet
I am a high context communicator so please share with me in detail the needs of your pet and how they do best around other dogs, social settings, and how I can best care for them while you are away. For example, I recently House/Pet sat for a friend with two dogs. Marley, is a 13 year-old mostly deaf and kind of blind curly haired Doggo. She mostly loves to be near you and doesn't wander to far from the home if let out and is pretty easy to care for as long as she knows you are close by (anxiety). Yoda on the other hand doesn't posses a fearful bone in his body and wants to be friends with everyone, including cars. So to be succinct, Marely got a lot more free rein than master Yoda.
A typical day
Depending the specific needs of your pet we can do Zoomies in the dog park, head to a dog friendly brewery or patio with friends, or simply snuggle on the couch while watching Top Chef or Chopped.
