Quality Care for Canine Companions.

Pet care experience

For as long as I can remember I've been surrounded by animals, especially when growing up (on a farm, in a country pub). I spent my youth working at my family's rural dog-boarding kennels caring professionally for dogs of all ages, breeds, sizes and temperaments, as well as cats, birds and the odd rodent that needed holiday accommodation; Not to mention the horses, goats, sheep and geese that go along with growing up on a farm. This foundation combined with, more recently, personally owning a rescue dog and looking after friends' pets, has given me over twenty years experience in caring for all types of animals, especially dogs.

Phil is an outstanding dog sitter. His calm and chilled demeanor creates the perfect environment for Rufus when we are away from home. I highly recommend Phil to anyone in need of a reliable and caring dog sitter!

Phil was great with Enzo over his stay, and clearly has significant experience with larger dogs. I was kept up to date throughout with photos and updates on a daily basis, and Enzo was very tired when he came back after so many exciting walks whilst he was away. Phil is a great guy who really cares about dogs, and he asked all the right questions during the meet and greet to ensure Enzo would have the best time on holiday. Phil was also really accommodating when our flight back was delayed, and it wasn’t an issue picking up Enzo later than planned. Top bloke, and wouldn’t hesitate to board there again if availability allows - Enzo has already been back!

Phil put me at ease from the moment I met with him, and despite being a short notice booking he still managed to arrange an introduction prior to Zeus staying. He asked every conceivable question, and more besides, and made lots of effort to get to know Zeus, his likes, dislikes and habits before agreeing to board him. He kept me informed during the weekend of where they'd been and what they'd been up to, sent a video of them having the best time together, and I can wholeheartedly say I think Zeus been looked after exactly as I would have liked. I have no hesitation in recommending Phil and will definitely be using him again given the opportunity!

IMPORTANT: I am currently in the process of moving house, so my boarding service is, unfortunately, temporarily on hold. Apologies to any regular clients that may be trying to book, please do message for any enquiries. Housesitting is still an available option for anyone happy to book with me. I have a good sized, securely fenced garden with plenty of space for exercise and playtime, squirrel chasing, hedgehog sniffing or just lazing on the lawn in the sunshine (time of year and Manchester weather permitting). The best way to evaluate the space and personal interaction is through a meet & greet at the house, but any method for an initial meeting is gladly considered. The four-bed, semi-detached house is shared with three other male, dog-loving adults who can provide a friendly, caring pack (when at home) for dogs who love company and attention, but it can also be a calm environment with quiet, safe spots for dogs who prefer to be less in the spotlight. Before the loss of my own dog, the household was very much used to having an animal around, so our home is fully prepared to accomodate your pet. I live within walking distance of plenty of outdoor green spaces; Alexandra Park, Longford Park, Ivy Green, the River Mersey and Chorlton and Sale Water Parks, which means great natural walks for dogs who require lots of exercise. The neighbourhood around the house itself is a leafy, quiet and very dog-friendly suburban area with smaller green spaces and parks, ideal for dogs who have less energy or need shorter walks. I am, of course, able and happy to administer any medication if required. My experience with senior and less-abled dogs means that I can give peace of mind to owners of animals with special requirements (mobility issues, medical conditions, etc). Every dog is different, so I ensure that their stay with me is enjoyable, safe and customised to their individual routine in order to guarantee they are as comfortable and content as possible.

Information Phil R. would like to know about your pet

Information about any behavioural issues, especially socially, associated with other dogs, children, animals, etc, is greatly appreciated in advance of the booking date. This includes their level of reaction to people, environment and unfamiliar and/or loud noises (vehicles, noisy environments, fireworks, etc). Open communication and honesty is integral to a good experience for all involved.

A typical day

Activity and attention are the most important things. Playing with balls, frisbees and tug-ropes in the garden, roaming nature trails, woods and parks, plenty of fuss and home comforts, socialising and spending all day with company and stimulation; whatever it takes to make their stay a positive and enjoyable experience. I ensure that your dog's routine and habits (walks, feeding, sleeping, behaviour and house rules) are followed as closely as possible to the ones provided by yourself in your own home. I will always insist on a meeting beforehand to make sure I am fully informed on every aspect.
