Let me start by saying that I put off writing this review for a while because I wanted to sit with it for a bit before deciding what I would say. But I came to the conclusion that others should know how this sitter operates and be very cautious before choosing her to watch your pets. I was seeking out the care of sitters because I do not always get the luxury of working from home and my pup had been getting bored and anxious leading him to destroy different things within the home. I was very hesitant to trust him in the hands of someone else but to my better judgement I went through with it. I started chatting with Phayle on Thursday and originally wanted to book her Monday, March 27 through Thursday, March 30 and on Saturday, April 1st. In our conversation, she asks if it would be okay for her roommate to watch my pup on Saturday and I really should've taken this as a warning sign but again I didn't. We ended up deciding to take Saturday off and then she asked again if her roommate could watch him on Tuesday instead and in my message to her I explained I wasn't comfortable with that just yet because I don't know this roommate and hadn't been chatting with them like I had with her. For me, it takes a lot to trust a person with my dog. He is like a son and I am very protective of him so the events that occurred at the pick up on March 27th absolutely shattered me and my confidence to leave him with anyone from Rover again. The drop off was fine, I gave her all the things she had asked for me to bring and handed him off with ease. I did notice a lot of what looked like junk in the front yard but I told myself not to judge because in her posting she does mention having a yard where he could run around in. Around 9 or 10 I messaged her checking on his status and received no response until I called her and seemed to have woken her up. She was confused as to who was calling even though I had called her that morning from the same number but again no judgement if she wants to get a nap in since it was still early. I was able to get out of work earlier so I messaged her and said I'd be able to pick him up closer to 4 as opposed to 5 and she said okay. I messaged her again when I was leaving and said I'd be there in 15 minutes. I got there and texted that I was there and proceeded to wait outside her gate for her to bring my pup out to me. I must've waited like 5-10 minutes before calling. Once she answered she stated that she was in the bathroom and asked if it would be alright for her roommate to bring him out because she was rushing to get ready for work. I told her I didn't mind waiting because I wanted to discuss some scheduling changes with her and then she asked if it could be discussed through text because she had work at 5 and needed to finish getting ready. So to my better judgement AGAIN, I let it go and proceeded to wait another 10 minutes for the roommate to bring my pup out. Except this roommate never brought him out, I got a terrible feeling throughout my body that just told me to go and knock on the front door. There, an older woman who couldn't quite understand me answered the door. She was confused as to why I was there and I kept repeating that I was looking for Phayle who was watching my dog. That was when the older woman stated that Phayle was not there, that she was at work! I instantly started fuming and asked if I could come in and go to her room to retrieve my dog. The door was locked when I reached it so I knocked and the roommate answered. I tried my best not to take my anger out on her because it was obviously directed at Phayle who BLATANTLY LIED about watching my dog and was just trying to make money off of me. My pup was on the bed shaking, probably because he could sense how scared I was. I frantically started to gather his things with the help of her roommate, she was keeping him in her room which was so incredibly small and there was stuff all over the place, clothes, shoes, etc. I couldn't find the roll of extra poop bags I had left with her or one of his favorite bones so I just left them there because I didn't wanna spend another second in that room. I couldn't believe I had left him there when he could've been in his nice, clean home. I was ready to burst into tears and I was speaking to the roommate who asked if Phayle had told me she would be watching him while she was at work and I said no! I thanked her for keeping an eye on him nonetheless and she was very apologetic. Once I got to the car I cried because (I cannot stress this enough) I trusted her with my dog, I made it all so easy for her and tried not to be overbearing but this was absolutely unacceptable and so unprofessional. When I reported her I wanted them to do a thorough investigation as to how she does things but I don't believe that was ever done. SO PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE BOOKING WITH HER.
