Experienced service dog trainer!

Pet care experience

Hi, I’m Peyton! I’m new to Indianapolis, but I have spent years building up a clientele in California and am excited to meet new pet parents! Due to needing to adjust to a new full-time job in the office M-F, I am primarily only accepting cats and small animals who can receive care 1x a day in the evenings (between 5-10 pm.) I love my dog clients and hope to be able to accept more of them in the future when I have greater flexibility in my schedule! I generally accept dog drop-in visits on Saturdays and Sundays only, unless you have a one-time weeknight evening date night need! I have extensive dog experience through my volunteer work with 4 Paws for Ability, a nonprofit organization that trains service dogs for children and veterans in need. I fostered 6 service dogs in training over the course of 4 years and taught them over 30 different commands. They had public access and went everywhere with me, so I learned how to handle dogs in every situation. Of course, it is easy to know your dog, but it's much harder to be able to work with someone else's dog. Luckily, I also have a lot of experience working with dogs that are not my own. I have spent 7 months as a sitter for 4 Paws for Ability. This required me to modify my training style so that the particular dog would respond in the best way possible. I have worked with small and large breeds, males and females, calm and crazy personalities, dogs on oral medications, and several dogs in heat. I truly love all dogs, and I would be so excited to have the opportunity to take care of your baby! I also have lots of experience sitting for cats and other small animals including rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, fish, and chickens. I have personally owned rabbits and gerbils during my childhood and college years.

Thank you so much for always being prompt in responding. You've been so lovely to schedule with and I have greatly appreciated the care you've given our cats.

Peyton left us incredibly detailed updates after each visit and went above and beyond in taking care of our cats. She fixed our automated cat feeder and spent time playing and cuddling with them. She was even able to grab our mail for us! I will definitely be rebooking with her in the future. Thank you, Peyton!

Peyton was amazing! She sent me the best photos and info from her visits during my trip and made me feel very assured my cat was in good hands. She did all his favorite things with him and will definitely be booking with her again in the future and so should you :)

Safety, trust & environment

I am trustworthy when it comes to caring for pets in a client’s home, and I never leave before the end of the time scheduled. Giving your baby some extra cuddles or fetch time is the best part of every visit! I also enjoy sending pictures and detailed updates each time. As a Rover client myself, I understand it is scary to leave your pet alone so if there is anything I can do to ease your worries, please let me know. I am officially certified in Pet CPR and First Aid. I keep a fully stocked pet first aid kit in my car at all times in case it is needed, and I also carry a cat/small animal carrier and dog seatbelt in my car for the unlikely event that emergency transport to a vet is needed. I have experience administering liquid, oral, and injected medications to dogs and cats. I function well under pressure and am able to keep a level head if an emergency were to occur. Please note that I reserve the right to add additional fees for holiday bookings, requests outside of my service radius, substantial medical/behavioral needs, and key pickup/dropoff that does not occur at the meet & greet. One free 15 minute meet & greet per client is included, but additional meet & greets will be charged as a drop-in visit.

Information Peyton S. would like to know about your pet

I love all dogs, cats, and small/exotic pets! The most important thing for me to know about your pet is how I can make them most comfortable, especially if they struggle with separation anxiety. If you have any behavioral concerns with your pet, please let me know ahead of time so I can be prepared to work with them. I would love to learn about the training you have been doing with your dog so I can continue working with them in the same way. If there are any special tools (like ecollars, prong collars, or gentle leaders), I am comfortable using those as well since I have experience with most common tools either with my own dog or a past client’s pup.

A typical day

I am happy to walk your dog around your neighborhood or play fetch with them! If they know obedience commands, I will practice those with them. If you want your dog to learn new commands, I would be happy to work with them during drop-in visits. Most of all, I would love to give your pup cuddles and plenty of love while you’re away!
