Pet care experience
My husband and I have a 9 year old basset hound named Snoozer, and a 1 year old basset named Woody, a daughter who’s 8 and a fish tank full of tropical fish. We often dog sit for friends, we LOVE all animals but unfortunately cannot host cats due to husbands allergy. I would be more than happy to take your dog on car rides for ice cream, burgers and pet store treat trips ( if that’s okay with you) .. We Often we go to the cottage in the summer where your dog is more than welcome to come. I do not have a crate for your dog to sleep in if that is what you prefer but you’re more than welcome to bring your dogs kennel, bed , toys and anything else that would make your dog feel at home. If you have any questions I would be more than happy to answer them for you!

I am so grateful to Petra for taking such good care of my dog Teddy. She looked after him like he was her own dog. She sent pictures of Teddy to me through out his stay and it gave me such comfort to also know he was in a family setting and being such good care of. I will definitely be using her again.
Petra has welcomed Bella into her home more times than I can count and treats her like she’s dog royalty. Bella sleeps in the bed, gets lots of treats and lots of snuggles. Petra’s dog, snoozer is a great friend for any dog as he has a very calm temperament and loves to play. Your pups would feel very at home with Petra.

I do not have a fenced in yard at this time, however I do have a deck that is glassed in, therefore if your pet enjoys spending time outside they can be out there for as long as they would like! There are two sliding glass doors so I will be able to keep an eye on them and see when they want back inside. We do have steps in our house however they are VERY wide and not steep at all. Our bassets have no trouble at all scaling them !

I would like to know the breed and if the dog is okay with other dogs/kids. If they are on a special diet, if they need medication ( dosages, time, or normal injection sites) .
A typical day
Dog treats! - if specific needs please inform me of any allergies your dog has. Walks on the trail behind our home (40 min trail or 1hr 30min trail) , or the dog park which ever you would prefer. If on a weekend and you’re comfortable with it I can bring your dog/dogs to the cottage with me where they will be walked on the beach and allowed to swim if they want. They will be allowed on furniture and to sleep in any area of the house they would like.

Availability
Currently, due to husbands busy schedule I am home 99.9% of the time! That being said I have plenty of time to spend with your pet to make sure they’re as comfortable as possible.
