Dogs come first, that's my policy.
Pet care experience
We have a very firm "Dogs First" policy. The needs, comfort, safety, and caloric satisfaction of dogs is our first and only focus. All our guests have free run of this small cape nestled on a fenced-in acre on a little hill. We are outside of town and less than a mile from two veterinarians and easy access to I-84. Home-made, basic-ingredient treats for all include fresh ground beef, duck, or venison, eggs, olive oil, flour, white or brown rice, and water. Fresh meals can be arranged for picky eaters. Your host is an IT professional who works at home, with an extensive background in pet rescue, transport, fostering, and training. Your co-host is a lazy, spoiled Chocolate Lab. Pickup/dropoff is available in Connecticut, Westchester, Putnam, and New York City.
Reviews
Peter was great! Our dog was exercised and very happy when we got home!
I've known Peter for 20 years, and there is no one else I would leave my dogs with. He's always been an avid dog lover and has volunteered, fostered, and has been implemental with rescues for local shelters. His home is very dog friendly, complete with a fenced in yard. Peter's own dogs are wonderful!
Peter takes care of my dog Murphy who is severely arthritic. He so patiently and gently cares for him. Murphy comes home energized, walking better, and most importantly happy. Peter's care is really a God send for us.
Peter cares for our Murphy as lovingly as he cares for his own fur baby. I've gone to Peter for pet care and advice, diet suggestions for my aging boy, and support during medical procedures for Murphy. I know Murphy is by Pete's side during his stay, and I'm not sure which of them has more fun. Recommended without hesitation or a single reservation.
