Pet care experience
Hey there. My name is Pete and I’ve been dogsitting off and on for the last eight or so years. For the most part, I’ve done house/pet sitting but have plenty of experience as a walker. I moved back to New England a few years ago from Portland, OR, where I did most of my pet sitting and walking. I had four regulars for about three years and relied on word of mouth to get periodic jobs. I used Rover for a few months when I first moved back here but eventually got a regular who took up most of my free time. Said regular is leaving the state and my schedule is now wide-open. As far as my pets go, they’ll be staying with my ex, as we have joint-custody and I prefer to keep my cat out of the mix. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. My schedule is essentially wide open. My job is remote and can be done from anywhere. If you have any special requests such as extended stays that might be hard for most, reach out. Peter H. is a dog whisperer in that he becomes *one* with the animal. Take my grumpy little black pug named Oliver for example. Peter has taken such frequent fun care that I’ve periodically mixed their names up. Oliver knows “Uncle Peter” by name and dang near back flips (like when he sees his grandma) when I tell him he’s coming. Ollie’s pit sis Roxanne loves to party with Uncle Peter as well. She always feels comfortable with him despite often being skidding with strangers and men in particular. He’s also great because he has been there for last minute care taking when no one else was. For that we are forever grateful. Peter’s very reliable and highly recommended. Thanks!

I have experience with all types of dogs and personalities and your pet will never be in danger around me. I'm able to adapt to your dogs quirks quickly. I'm also prepared in a case where another dog may be aggressive. I've never dealt with an attack but I'm fully prepared for it.

Like anything, let me know if your dog has any special needs, quirks, behavioral issues, physical issues, etc. and I will accommodate. I haven't met a dog that I couldn't handle yet ...and I've had some doozies.
A typical day
Generally, if there's a walking path anywhere nearby, I like to go on a good, long walk. If your dog is good with off-leash and there's a fenced in area around, I like to get the chuckit out or a frisbee and play fetch. It all depends on the dog, though. I pride myself on my ability to read the dogs mood and I go from there. If your dog likes a lot of attention, I'm your guy.

As mentioned, my schedule is wide open. My job can be done from anywhere. It's not your typical 9-5 and multiple walks or a house sit would not effect my work life in the least.
