Pet care experience
I was raised by loving parents that treated our pets like family and I honestly can't imagine life without animals surrounding me. I have always had an open heart for rescues and that has led me to be a pet owner nearly my entire life. My pet care experience has ranged from different dog breeds (German Shepherd, Doodles & Poodles, Airedale Terrier, etc.) of all ages to different animal species altogether (birds, cats, rats, chinchillas, etc.). I prefer caring for only one animal at a time but can accommodate two from the same family.

Penny took care of our dog, Molly (German Shephard mix) very many times until she passed in 2021. Since then Penny has continued to be the person we reach out to to take care of our two new rescues - Gracie (Border Collie mix) and Maple (Hound mix) - because of her dependability and true love for all animals. Her experience with taking care of pets of all types and ages gives us incredible peace of mind so that we can relax and not worry about our pups when we get the chance to travel. The frequent updates are also a major bonus so that our minds can be at ease while we are away. Penny always makes herself available for us and absolutely spoils our pups when they go to stay with her - taking them for walks, playing with them in her yard, giving them treats, etc. We are so grateful for her and would recommend her to anyone looking for a safe and fun experience for their pets.
I’ve known Penny for over a year. We met when she adopted a stray dog that I had found. I’ve left my golden retriever with her on several occasions to play with the adopted stray, Bella Luna. We have play dates so our dogs can stay connected, since I kept Luna 2 months before finding Penny to be her new family. She’s a blessing! Penny is dependable and very safety conscious. She’s a true animal lover, with loads of experience with cats and birds too!

I have a newly rescued spayed female mid sized very friendly dog who loves everyone and will make sure your dog goes home TIRED. I also have an extra large dog crate, if needed, to allow for puppy naps between play sessions in the backyard. I will walk or not walk depending on the owner and the size and breed.

Please let me know about any unique preferences or "triggers" that your pet may have so that I am able to properly prepare ahead of time. My goal is to minimize or eliminate any disruptions to their normal routine so that their stay here is as comfortable as it would be at home.
A typical day
My daily routine consists of morning and evening dog walks, as well as, multiple stretch breaks in the backyard throughout the day. I have a fenced in yard and a friendly dog of my own to keep your fur baby entertained while you're away. When you pick up your pup(s) from my home you will feel like the best fur parent in the world and they'll want to come back for more doggy fun!

Availability
I've just retired after working full time as a single parent for over 30 years. I know that working with animals is going to be my focus for part time employment. And because my animals are more important to me than anything material, I don't go away for overnight trips so I can accommodate most situations.
