I grew up with dogs and cats and love having them around. I have experience of walking, feeding and taking care of two German Shepards who were previous pets. I have also cared for chihuahuas and other small to medium breeds. I live in a house converted into an apartment with a grassed back garden for the toilet. It is reasonably spacious. I live in upper Shirley which is a nice quiet suburban area between Southampton common and st. James Park which are ideal for walks. I am a reliable professional working for the NHS in a project role so I often work-from-home, giving me time to keep a pet company. I usually go on site 2/3 days per week but this is flexible and I live near the hospital so can pop home over lunch. I was a bit nervous about leaving Dinky with Penny as he a 18 month old Gsd and can be a lot. We arrange for Penny to take Dinky out for a walk just to see how she handled him. Within minutes I knew I did not have to worry. We also went though what he liked to eat and things he like to do. While we were away, she sent me up dates and pictures of their adventures. He looked like he had an amazing time. I would 100% use her again and I cannot recommend her highly enough.
Penny did a great job with my whippet Rufus. Sometimes he can be shy with strangers but Penny put him at ease and was patient with him. She shared regular pictures and updates and he seemed to settle in quickly and came home happy. I would not hesitate to recommend!
Dfur absolutely loved his mini break. He was treated like a prince. Penelope had toys ready for him and a bed. I had regular updates and videos too which put my mind at rest. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in leaving Dfur overnight again or recommending Penelope.
Penny looked after my St. Bernard Ollie while we were on holiday in Portugal. It is clear that she love dogs and they got on really well. She always responded to my messages quickly and sent me regular pictures of them having a fun time on walks and general updates on his well-being which was really reassuring as he had never boarded before. I would definitely book again! Thank you.

I will have your pet sleep in the living room in a bed or crate depending on your preference. The backyard is unfenced so dogs would be supervised and kept on lead.

Tell me about your pets schedule, care needs, temperament and anything else I should prepare for. As I live in an apartment it is important that pets are house-trained, can walk on a lead, are reasonably well behaved and don’t bark excessively. They would need to be comfortable being left alone occasionally for 1-4 hours if I need to go to the office.
A typical day
I have an active lifestyle and love walking/running so can provide plenty of outdoor exercise and play for dogs. Or if they are an indoor cat we could play at home and spend some time together.

I usually work 9-5 Monday to Friday but I often work from home. I am reasonably flexible with my job and time if given notice.
