Caring for you, caring for your pet

Pet care experience

I’ve grown up with dogs and cats of my own my entire adult life. Growing up, I wasn’t allowed to have pets so I worked the not-so-glamorous job as a kennel attendant; the long, cold walks in the winter and the hot and sunny walks in the summer. Picking up poop, learning each dog’s temperament and their unique personalities. Their feeding schedule, medicine schedule, how to give their medicine and I was even taught a little grooming such as ear cleaning, nail cutting and hair trimmings/cuts and what brushes are best for what breeds. Later, I worked in a veterinary office for a few years as a veterinarian assistant and I have volunteered at local shelters in Kansas City. I have minimal dog training experience — I am no expert, but I have continued educating myself as well as the training of my 100+ lb dog, Sutter that I rescued last year and have gained much knowledge and confidence and believe that positive reinforcement, confidence, and high value treats are the best way for training your BFF to become the best version of themselves. I currently own (what I believe to be) a German Shepherd/Great Dane mix, Sutter, my cat, Sushi and have a Golden Retriever pup being added to our family in April! I love them like my own children — don’t we all?! I totally know the feeling of leaving them behind with someone you’re unfamiliar with — it’s SO stressful! I recently experienced this as I had no one to watch my dog and was referred to Rover. I was stressed my entire trip about leaving my babes with a stranger... Although, my Rover experience wasn’t awesome, don’t let that deter you! They don’t all end up that way!! Please know your fur-babies are in the best of care when they’re with me, mainly because you deserve some R&R and I want to help you help them. They will be treated just as if they were my own. I love meeting new faces... especially the fluffy ones. I would love to set up a meet and greet in advance, if possible, to make sure that it is a good fit for everyone. I will love on them, continue training (if you are doing so), go on daily walks, send you daily photos, etc. I look forward to hearing from you and your furry family member soon! Kindly, Paula

Paula is absolutely amazing! I travel often for work and hate the idea of boarding my fur baby. A friend referred me to her and I’m so glad she did. She is so great with my dog Ravi. She takes care of her like she is her own. She’s so thoughtful sending me pics and updates and will even FaceTime so I can see my sweet girl when I’m gone. I know she is well cared for and loved when I am gone. When I return home Ravi wants to stay and play with Paula...so I know she is living her best life while I am working! Ravi also takes meds which are sometimes a chore for me, but Paula has a magic touch and Ravi takes them with no problem for her. I’m so thankful I found Paula, she truly is the best!!!

Paula watched my Murphy several times before I ultimately had to put him down, but he loved her! She’s truly an animal whisperer! She’s watched my parents’ dogs as well and has always taken, not only excellent care of them, but of the house, also. Paula always goes above and beyond with her care with whomever is in her care. She’s simply incredible!

Information Paula E. would like to know about your pet

• Do they get along with other pets? • Are they stranger/people friendly? • Are there areas on their body they don’t like being touched, e.g., ears, feet, tail? • Do they have a favorite toy/bone preference? • Are you currently training? If so, please provide your command words so they aren’t confused and training is not compromised. • Do they have any phobias? E.g. Thunderstorms, vacuums, loud music, etc. • PLEASE have them current on vaccinations and provide records if possible in case of an emergency. **Records are not a requirement.**

A typical day

If you allow car rides, I’d love to take them on car rides as I own an SUV to support my pups. Daily walks are a must (unless you do not for senior doggos). I’ll take them to their favorite parks, whatever their “favorites” of anything are.
