Hi my name is Paul! I’ve been a full time pet sitter for the last 4 years. After my dog passed away at the age of 24 years old (he was my little old man), i knew i wanted to be around pets. I was lucky to find an apartment that has a massive backyard and is on the ground level (for the older dogs) where your loved ones can run around. I had a short but fulfilling career in tech and real estate but it was ultimately during Covid that shifted my goals in life. I packed up and drove cross country to nyc to be with my long distance partner who also helps out with the pet care. 4 years later I’m happy to be a full time pet sitter/walker which is pretty much the coolest job (I feel like a celebrity when my doggos recognize me on the streets and say hi 🖤) My fun fact is that growing up I had mice, rats, cats, hamsters, dogs, parakeets, and fish as pets so I’m pretty much equipped to handle all situations. I was shocked at the number of fish owners on rover who have elaborate amazing aquariums in their nyc apartments. Please let us know if your pet has triggers, odd behaviors, needs special requirements such as constant care. Also please inform us of any cameras if you use them. I follow the care instructions you provide very strictly so I always request care instructions be written out explicitly with a daily routine. While I am experienced with giving medications, I will need to be informed of all required and situational medications prior to the stay. I think that’s about it!
