I have 13 years of personal experience with dogs big and small. I don't treat them as a "pet" I treat them as an equal. With love and respect. Walking a dog is not a once or twice a day for 5 minutes until they thave done their business. It's a time of reflection for them and play and to socialize. When I walk a dog I do for at least 20 -40 min 2 to 3 times day. But it depends on the dog. I do this because I find it makes them less edgy and agitated. And it also what they need to make them happy. Dogs are pack animals and need to be socialized. This is why I walk them for as long as I do. Walking tires them out and gives them a chances to socialize with other people and other dogs.
