Pet care experience
I consider myself incredibly lucky that I get to work doing what I love most: hanging out with dogs! I get a lot of pleasure out of providing service to others, and no one is more grateful than a dog on the receiving end of a belly rub or a satisfied pet owner. I take pride in offering exceptional care and putting my clients' minds at ease. Every time I receive a new request I’m thrilled that my business continues to thrive and that I get paid to spend time with an old buddy or a new friend. I have experience walking up to 3 dogs, heavy pullers, and on-leash aggression. I run daily and can run with your dog! I make an effort to be punctual and to provide your dogs with the exercise they need. My family had a Shetland Sheepdog growing up. I do not own a dog, but I have worked with all breeds, ages, and sizes. I have experience with heavy pullers, separation anxiety, on-leash aggression, as well as elderly dogs and puppies. I have worked with many cats during my pet sitting career as well as some other small animals such as hamsters, hedgehogs, Guinea pigs, rabbits, turtles, and fish. I am always in communication with owners and make it a habit to send pictures and updates if anything should go wrong or if I have questions. My goal is not only to provide great care, but to create relationships with pet owners and gain consistent and recurring clients. I always ask for detailed instructions to ensure that I am providing your pets with everything they are accustomed to. A few business items: I work full time as a baker which mean I leave for work around 4:00 AM and return around 2:00 PM. Occasionally I work a Noon-8pm shift. As a result of this, for bookings extending past 12:00 PM on the final day of service, I typically add an additional charge of the nightly rate.
Reviews
Patrick was great! Available on short notice and gave a great report of the walk. Always reassuring when I’m working longer days. Would definitely book with him again.
It has been a pleasure to work with Patrick over the past few months. He has been prompt with responding to messages. He has been flexible with last minute changes in schedules. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a dog walker in the Minneapolis area.
This was my first time using Rover to book a dog walker. When Patrick arrived he was so kind and answered any questions I might have had. He kept me posted as to the progress of their walk and even sent me a couple of pictures. I look forward to working with him in the future.
I highly recommend Patrick. We booked him for a house sitting visit for our dog and two cats. Our dog is very energetic/high maintenance and one cat is geriatric/high maintenance and we came home to calm, well-adjusted animals. Patrick did a home stay for us and our house was tidy and clean when we returned. A great experience overall!!

Information Patrick W. would like to know about your pet
While I don't have breed preferences, I do value meeting clients and their dogs prior to working with them. This allows me to best ensure my own safety as well as the safety of their pets. I always ask if a dog has a particular trigger or behavioral issue and ask how best to deal with it. When meeting a dog I always allow the dog to come to me first. I try to keep a calm and open energy when entering a client's home so the dog can see that I intend only to love and care for them. I always ask owners what their dog's routine is. This way I can put them at ease while their owners are away.
A typical day
One of the first things I do when booking a client is search for nearby parks. Parks are exciting and fun places for dogs as well as beautiful places that I can appreciate. I try to stay away from busy roads as a general precaution. If there is a dog-friendly trail, you can bet that I'll be walking on it! My favorite place to walk dogs in Minneapolis is along the Mississippi river if it's easily accessible.
