Outside of having many dogs specifically growing up I have spent the last 9 years in the cities house and pet sitting for an expanding group of owners and a large variety of animals (I draw a line at spiders sorry). Including caring for several exotic birds, dogs, and cats with special dietary and health care needs. I've really loved becoming a long term temporary human for some very special fur babies and have fostered quite the relationship with them. Because of Covid I can no longer work my day job and hope to care for animals full time. I have a very wide open schedule and reliable transportation so I really can be available for a number of different services. For in house sits I generally only need to check back home for 2 hours or so every couple days usually. We have a little zoo at home. Dogs, cat, a snake, even the occasional worm farm making fertilizer for the garden. I honestly have never met happier dogs and I have gotten to meet so many! I have been sitting for the 4 same families for 7 years including multiple generations of pets. So if safety and trust can be gleamed by loyalty of customer base I feel pretty good about myself. These folks have trusted me to consistently handle sometimes complicated wound and illness treatments and chronic disabilities of their pets, sometimes for weeks at a time. As a immunocompromised household we take Covid protocols very seriously and don't go anywhere very often. This means I do a lot of work from home that I can do from your home and be there as a human presence for your pets and not just a stranger stopping by to feed and outside times and leave. I like to make sure clients that need a lot of play get it, and on the other end I have eldery clients that really just want nothing more than a person near by to pet them until they nap. Needless to say I love animals. I was told after a recent sit that their dog seemed to legitimately miss me for atleast 2 days after they got home. 😂 I have a standard practice I prefer with new clients of having a masked face to face with owner and pet to meet and greet and discuss any questions beforehand. I really feel like it helps pets be more comfortable with me showing up later if they have met me with owners present and had some time to get acquainted.
