Retired, experienced country gal

Pet care experience

I've had many pets over many years. As a retiree, I'm free to share love and attention to others' pets of all kinds and have more than two years of sitting experience. Multiple animals are fine. Any size dog. Services available for Moore County. Comfortable with sick ones and able to follow any medical practices you have. I am highly trustworthy and follow your rules. I'm available for in-home sitting for up to 2 weeks; drop-ins while you're out; walking services as calendar allows. Weekend and holiday availability. I'm sensible, quiet, pleasant, clean and it would be just me. Hobbies include sewing and crafts. Hope to be a help to you and your pets. (I'm in this for the bonus dog kisses!) Thank you for reading.

Like before Patricia is a gem of a pet sitter. This last minute "save" for us enabled us to follow through with travel plans that would have been canceled because my family member who was supposed to be at the house got COVID. Thanks so much!

Patricia is very personable and professional. She was great with our two German Shepherd-ish pups. She took good care of our senior guy and played with our 3 year old high-energy boy. She kept us informed with photos and texts, so we knew they were well taken care of. The dogs loved her!

About Patricia W.

Communication

80% response rate
Usually responds in under half an hour
Sends updates with Rover Cards

Skills

35 years of experience
Oral medication administration
Injected medication administration
First aid/CPR
Senior dog experience
Special needs dog experience
Can provide daily exercise

Safety, trust & environment

I follow the daily routines already set by the client: walk, bed, feeding times, etc. Knowing what the pet is like ahead of time is important. I need to know temperament, restrictions, types of exercise desired, what to feed/not feed, how we will communicate, your house rules, etc.

Information Patricia W. would like to know about your pet

Special needs, typical appetite/behaviors, limitations, cautions, types of things the dog likes to do and where, the training level (response to commands), what your dog rules are. I also need to be aware of any house rules to follow.

A typical day

Playing fetch and running around outside. Walking on a leash. Cuddling. Whatever engages the individual dog. The main idea is lots of attention - especially if pup isn't used to his people being gone. I can tell what a dog likes/doesn't like quickly. Some love to follow you around and others are more independent. Some are afraid of thunderstorms and others need lots and lots of activity. Some want to sleep with you (that's good) and some aren't allowed on the furniture. And safety is always first.
