Pet care experience
Just in time for the holidays!! We now have a large fenced in yard that can accomodate dogs of all sizes. We still have our small dog area if needed, and it can also serve as a quick rainy day potty area. I understand the love of pets and the difficult decisions that sometimes need to be made to leave them while travelling. I have been the caregiver many times, and I have needed the service others provided. I treat visiting pets like one of my own.

I have two miniature schnauzers that will love having a furry friend around to play with under my close supervision. They are in charge of daily fence checks to see if there are any tiny openings to squeeze through. So far so good! But please let me know in advance if your dog is a digger or a jumper. I can easily check on your pet at your home if this suits you better. I have cared for litters in their own homes, and once I even cared for an entire young litter at my own home that complicated their family's unexpected travel plans. I will carefully evaluate your needs, and I will not take on a situation for which I am not qualified.

I mentioned already that I need to know if your dog has jumping or digging skills that can defy a 5 foot chain link fence. If your dog prefers time alone I understand this and can rearrange my spaces as needed. I am not medically qualified for anything unusual, but I will do what it takes to keep your dog safe. I keep a pretty level head in an animal emergency, but of course I would prefer to not have any of those. How does your dog sleep? Bring something comforting that smells like home if this is his or her first time away. Trust me, I will understand any quirky habits because I have known a lot of fun yet funny dogs!
A typical day
I like to see busy dogs and wagging tails. This is even better when followed by solids naps. I am always busy with some type of house repair or on-line project, and I love being in the midst of their activities. If I need to work in my basement, I will find something they can play with down there. Garage? Same thing. I talk to them like they are humans, and I like to steal private moments with each to give positive attention and affection. Frankly, I just like their company, and I hope they like mine as well.

Availability
I am now home full-time, so caring for your furry family member can be top priority in my days. I am very versatile with arranging my small ranch house into separate areas to meet the needs of each dog. There is no need to find multiple places. I will certainly take more than one pet if they are from the same family.
