I love dogs because of their absolute joy over simple things like getting a treat or playing with a ball. They’re incredibly giving, loyal, and affectionate, and they want nothing more than to please the people they love. Since my beloved dog passed away last year, I only have my two birds: a yellow naped Amazon named Corona, and Mick, a cockatiel. I regularly look after my dog’s two siblings when their owner travels, and I’ve discovered how much I adore being a caregiver. It’s an honor to provide a safe, secure and loving environment and thereby give owners total peace of mind. I love spending time with all sorts of dogs! I can provide care for any breed, and can handle dogs up to 75 lbs. I have experience with obedience classes and agility training, both of which have helped me to tune into dogs’ subtle communication, and to provide guidance and support for ongoing training. I’m loving, responsible, and meticulous. When I first meet your dog, I’ll let her explore her curiosity: checking me out, sniffing me and the treats in my hand (given your go-ahead). I always let the dog make the first move, so she’s completely in control of the situation and can get comfortable quickly. As we get to know each other, I’d want to know how she most likes to play so that we can bond. I always use plenty of kind words, praise, and rewards, and most dogs warm up to me quite readily. I love cats too, and have a special empathy with them. In my free time, I enjoy yoga and cycling. My dog used to love running with me while I cycled! There are several good hiking trails around where I live, and dogs are welcome on-leash. I can also provide care for cats, birds, guinea pigs, fish, and so on.
