Kitten rescuer & dog lover

Pet care experience

I've lived with pets all my life and while I’ve only had one human roommate in the last 30 years, I've always had a least one cat up until 2018. I LOVE cats (esp kittens), and am quite comfortable around dogs as well (I love them too, just not in all capitals, LOL). When I first started pet sitting, I thought I preferred cats to dogs, but the past few years have enabled me to expand in my love of, and comfort with dogs (but please don't tell the cats that)! I also used to 'lease' a horse in my youth and have experience with birds, hamsters, fish, and guinea pigs. I DON'T like snakes or insects (sorry!) In the last 12 years I’ve volunteered with several rescues as a cat/kitten foster and I'm known to be particularly good with feral kittens and cats. I'm really good with walking (dogs mostly), dispensing medications, and loving attention, but I'm not a pushover when it comes to treats from the table (that's a no-no) staying on leash when required, and letting them know I mean business when necessary. I don't believe in EVER striking or punishing animals and seem to fall in love with them all. I’ve been a house and pet sitter on the site “Trusted Housesitters” since 2018 and have over 21 positive reviews there.

Pam did a excellent job pet sitting our April Ann and housing sitting for us. April Ann loves Pam and is very comfortable with her. Pam did everything we asked and more. We will be using her again!

Pam was very responsive and communicative while planning and during Penny's stay.

Pam sat for us a couple of years ago while we were away on holiday. Communication before her arrival was excellent and she kept me up to date at all stages pre-arrival. Once Pam arrived, she was really lovely and a pleasure to get to know before we left. She cared for our 4 x cats really well. Three fairly senior cats with mixed medicine and dietary requirements. Pam took all of this in her stride and took time to get to know them and their routine before we left the following day. We received regular updates from Pam while we were gone and returned to 4 very relaxed cats and a lovely clean house (even cleaner than when we left)! Pam is a treasure and if you are lucky enough to have her sit for you, rest easy, your pets and home will be in excellent hands. I am very happy to recommend Pam and look forward to seeing her again in the future.

Pam is a loving and attentive caregiver. She provided care for my 2 house cats and my chicken. She was so gentle that she won the affection of my very timid cat right away. I’m confident that any animal companion in her care will feel loved and at ease while their humans are away.

My preference is for cats to remain indoors at all time at my house, and dogs always on a lead when outside. I have a variety of crate sizes here, and am totally comfortable with your fur kids riding in my car, lounging on my furniture, and/or sleeping in my bed. I have all wood floors, plenty of cat litter pans and bowls for food and water. My yard is not fenced but I live directly in front of the Western Maryland Rail Trail, and have easy access to neighborhood parks as well.
