Your dog will love it here!

Pet care experience

Our home and large fenced yard will be a comfortable, safe and clean environment for your pet to visit. We will make it fun, too! About this sitter: A life-long pet owner, I currently am blessed to share my home with my sainted husband, Craig. Our grad school student daughter and her boxer-hound mix shelter pup, Molly, are part-time residents when the university is on break. Having just recently laid to rest our family's greyhound, Craig and I do not currently own a dog. I don't expect us to remain dog-less for long, as canine companionship has always been a part of our lifestyle. We miss our departed fur babies: special needs retired racer Forrest Gump Greyhound, Labrador Retriever mix Buttons Faye Wonderdog, and Thoroughbred mare horse Photogenic Flash, all of whom have gone to the Rainbow Bridge. Why I love dog sitting: We have all owned pets since childhood. That's more than 100 years of combined pet ownership experience including dogs, cats, fish, a duck, hamsters, lizards, and horses. My childhood dream career wasn't to be a ballerina, police officer, or rock star. I wanted to be a veterinarian. That didn't quite happen, but I did work for several years as a veterinary technician. I am the go-to gal for all things medically related for my extended family's pets. About my yard: Our back yard is completely fenced with 6' vinyl privacy fencing. It is large enough for your dog to safely run and play. It is covered in good turf grass with no poisonous plants or shrubs. The layout is mostly level, with a small rise on one side. My experience administering medication: I gave my dogs medication every day, so it is no problem for your dogs to receive their prescription or OTC meds. I have experience in administering oral and injectable meds, and subcutaneous fluids.

Pam took excellent care of our dog Indie!! Indie had never been boarded or stayed with anyone outside of our family and Pam, her family and Forrest welcomed her into their home. She set up a meet and greet beforehand which was very helpful for all of us. She would send a message and/or pictures everyday that week that we were gone. She was very accommodating to our dogs needs and would send us messages asking about our dogs personality and needs to make sure that she was comfortable. We were also happy that Forrest was there as we think that was also a comfort for pup to have a furry friend. We would be happy to refer Pam to a friend and would absolutely book her again in the future! Thanks Pam, Forrest and family!!

Pam and family took awesome care of our family dog, Bailey! They treated Bailey as their own and sent pics and messages every day we were gone. Bailey definitely was treated like a princess! Our family would absolutely use Pam again, and highly recommend her!

Pam and her family took great care of our dog, Mac. I would have no hesitation leaving him with them again or recommending them to friends.

Information Pam K. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know about your dog's energy level and personality. We have an obvious bias towards a certain boxer-beagle mix (looking at you, Molly Granddog!), greyhounds and Labrador retrievers, but we love all sorts of dog breeds.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks Our neighborhood has lots of sidewalks. There are also a couple of large grassy fields nearby where we can play fetch or chase butterflies. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Your dog will snooze in the living room. My snoring tends to keep them awake so we don't have our visiting dogs sleep in our bedroom. (Heh.) I can provide a comfy bed and a pile of blankets for your dog to snuggle into at bedtime. If your dog needs the security and safety of a kennel, we have a large sized kennel here to use. (Large enough to accommodate a standing, 80-lb greyhound.) Time I'll spend with your dog My work schedule is flexible, so I am able to spend as much time with your dog as s/he needs.
