While volunteering there, I have done micro-chipping in dogs, attended to vaccinations, and performed other various activities, whether it be medical or grooming, with the sheltered dogs and cats. I also did an internship at a local exotic veterinarian. I have worked with animals of all types such as dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and small mammals. I have also had experience with horses by horse sitting for a neighbor that lives on my street. My responsibilities consisted of cleaning out the stalls, brushing and grooming the horses, feeding the horses on a daily basis, fetching them into the barn, and releasing them from the barn. Over the summer of 2014, I visited Thailand where I spent two weeks working with dogs, cats and elephants. I assisted in surgeries and performed medical attention to all sorts of cases. Animals have always been a passion of mine and it has continued to grow throughout the years. I love attending to the care of any animal and have their best well being in mind. Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover for as long as I can remember. I got my own dog, a Parson-Russel and corgie mix, going into elementary school. It was an eye-opening experience for me as my love grew for this animal. Having a pet of my own made me realize that, for me to be happy, animals had to be a big part of my life.
