Patient and loving! 24/7 care!

Pet care experience

A quick summary- I do housesitting, drop-ins, dog shuttling, and walks. I am experienced with elderly, shy, and medically needy dogs. I am a college student with very flexible hours and will dedicate myself to your best friend! COVID ADDITIONS As someone who works with and lives in close proximity to people vulnerable to covid, on top of having a job that puts me in many clients’ homes, I’m practicing extreme caution even as things are hopefully dying down. All interactions with clients and potential clients will be done masked and sanitation before and after we meet is highly encouraged. I am also fully vaccinated! Thank you for your patience. In detail- I take pride in my patience, gentleness, and respect for both my client’s pets and home. I strive to be clean and tidy while providing your pet with the utmost care and sensitivity. I have worked with dogs since I was sixteen, specifically caring for several senior large breeds. I have been using Rover for five years now and sincerely love working with my clients and their pets. It has brought me so much joy to connect with people and grow as an animal caretaker. I possess years of experience with sensitive and medically needy dogs and would love to be considered for less popular clients. I am a fulltime college student and this added flexibility is a great strength when caring for pets with many considerations. During housesittings, I will take into account any specific requests or agreed upon schedules and provide plenty of pics and updates allowing you to be as present as possible while you're away. I will vacuum or sweep if my stay includes personal time and will wash and make the bed should my stay include spending the night. And of course, I will clean up after your pet to make sure you come home to a house as neat as you left it! During drop-ins, I will provide an alert when I arrive and a pic of your pet to reassure you of their wellbeing. I will record any activity for you and take extra pictures when possible. For shuttling, I book them as drop ins and charge $15 per 5 miles. My car is equipped with a protective seat cover that acts like a flat hammock to prevent pets from slipping off the seats and comes with a leash seat belt attachment for maximum safety. I sometimes get multiple requests for the same dates so just as a heads up- I give my repeat clients first pick so any subsequent bookings with me will be of less of a hassle, but between repeat clients it’s by time of request. I strongly recommend approaching me (or any sitter you’d like) a little ahead of time. Once we book, no matter the client status, I don’t trade up so I highly encourage booking before your deadline is too near for comfortable maneuvering. I consider myself to be trustworthy and accommodating, I work hard to maintain these qualities and I believe my reviews speak for themselves in this regard. I've met many wonderful people on this app and look forward to meeting you as well!

While I was living in CA we used Ophelia and she made us feel very comfortable with leaving our puppy with her. The meet and greet was thorough and sent so many updates to ease our minds. Would use her service again!

I’ve never trusted anyone with my pets and home other than friends and family in the past, so this was a HUGE step for me. Ophelia was absolutely amazing from the start. She handles herself and her service with extreme professionalism, and to be honest, probably more efficiently than most people twice her age. She was thorough, respectful and very communicative. I received updates and pictures throughout every day we were gone. I have two senior dogs, one of which has pretty bad separation anxiety when im gone, who had ALSO just gone through major abdominal surgery, and she took care of him as if he were her own. She followed all feeding and medication instructions flawlessly. Im beyond grateful for finding Ophelia. So don’t hesitate, book her now!! (Except when I need her ??).

I take notes during meet and greets in order to tailor my care to your pet’s needs as specifically as possible, but in a very general sense I do have some habits. For instance, I record feedings and list all my actions in messages to clients so they can let me know if something needs to be adjusted, it’s also a policy of mine to never leave the house for more than 4 hours to limit any risk of accidents.

Information Ophelia B. would like to know about your pet

I’d like to know if your dog has any fear/aggression issues or medical issues I should be immediately aware of. And I heavily encourage you to be as thorough as possible when we go over what services you'd like from me during a booking. I strive to satisfy all expectations, so the more detailed the better!

A typical day

I typically aim for very mellow days. As most of my clients have dogs who are seniors, medically needy or sensitive, the best case scenario is most likely a very relaxed day of snoozing on a dog bed punctuated by the occasional game of tug or a full body rub down. For more energetic pets like puppies and high energy breeds, my go to is usually fetch or tug. Basically any game that can be done impromptu, my goal is always to burn off that energy as I see it and resume our mellow day. Local dog parks are also very fun so long as they’re safe, not prone to crowding and the pet I’m currently watching is reliable in off leash situations.

For housesittings specifically, I try to limit outings as much as possible to save on gas. So pet care can be around the clock so long as I don’t have any other scheduled events or bookings alongside the housesitting. Of course I let clients know my projected week during meet and greets so no time spent away from pets will be a surprise.
