I have never written a bad review but I wanted to warn other pet owners about Omar’s services. I boarded my puppy with Omar for two nights. After my puppy was home, I shared a few concerns/feedback with him in a polite and respectful manner. He came back at me in a very defensive and condescending way. Here is what was said and his responses: 1) I expressed concern that he crated my puppy too much. I had asked him to only crate him at night. A friend of mine ended up doing a pop in to check on my puppy and sure enough, in the middle of the day while other dogs were running around in the yard, my puppy was locked in his crate. Omar stated it was because he had a territorial dog at the house he was watching for the day. When I asked him about it he told me he is “running a business and couldn’t provide full treatment for yours”. He did not disclose possibly having territorial dogs at his house to me beforehand. I personally would not have boarded my puppy there had I known this. 2) I had asked Omar to take my puppy’s harness off after he was walked and in every picture but one the harness was on. His response “I must not have heard you say that”. So he’s admitting that he didn’t pay attention when I was explaining what my puppy needs before he was boarded. Red flag. 3) He listed on his profile no kids living in the house, even though he has two small children there. I told him that it wasn’t a problem for me but may be for other pet owners. He responded with “if you had a problem with the kids you could have said something” to which I explained, again, that I DIDN’T have a problem with it but other owners might, and maybe he should update it. 4) He was unresponsive when I texted him to meet up to drop my puppy off in his care. Said his phone died. He did offer to pick him up once her got back to me but at that time I was at an appointment. However, at 8am on the day I was to get my puppy back he was messaging me asking if I was coming at 5pm to pick him up (window was 5pm-7pm). Omar treats this service as a business and does not do it out of love for animals. His attitude, defensiveness and lack of accountability is mind blowing. I would not bring my puppy back to him.
