Our family has owned a number of pets, great and small, from the time I could crawl (dogs, fish, reptiles, birds, rats, hamsters, etc.). I began dog sitting and housesitting for neighbors and church friends around age 11. As far as professional experience, I was a cat and kennel volunteer at animal shelters throughout high school, one of which I was promoted to Shift Coordinator (West Suburban Humane Society in Downers Grove, IL). Here, I was responsible for walking, bathing, feeding, and administering medication to our animals along with ensuring cleanliness and training incoming volunteers. Additionally, I worked as a Daycare Attendant at a dog daycare facility (Doggie Depot in Downers Grove, IL) for roughly two years. I am comfortable with any size pet and have experience working with exotic mammals, avians, and herps in my career as a Zoo and Wildlife Bio. major.
