I have had dogs my entire life and my parents believed it was important for me to be a part of the process from the beginning. Though a lot of the training that occurred stemmed from the "Training Dogs - for Dummies" book, we learned so much with every new dog that we had trained over the years. From Dachshunds to Labradoodles to mix breeds, there are so many different factors to take in when taking care of a dog that cannot be read from a book. I feel that my time spent with all wide variety of breeds and ages, from an 8 week old puppy to a 12 year old beagle basset hound mix, gives me the upper hand on reading how best to spend time with your pup. My mom's dog has diabetes, and my dad's dog is a vegetarian due to his stomach issues, so I have experience with giving medication to dogs via treat/food and also giving insulin shots after eating. I currently have a job that I work 16 hours a week for, typically M - TR. With at least a days heads up, I can adjust my schedule for you! The reason I do not have a dog at my age is due to the fact that I have not had the balance for one yet. I have wanted a dog since I moved out of my parents house after high school, but I worked full-time while going to college full-time and that is no environment for any kind of dog. I presently live in an apartment complex that does not have much space to offer, I usually have to drive to a park if I am watching my friend/families dog. I am participating in Rover because I still have a few steps to conquer before getting my own pet; however, I also am taking part because I love being around them - all sizes, all ages. They bring me such joy, which is something that 2020 has lacked thus far.
