I owe it to cat people to warn you that Olivia and Ryuta may not be a good fit for your pet. They were punctual and did the basic job of feeding my cat, but they didn't spend any time with her. The combined time of three of their "half-hour" visits was a total of 22 minutes. Their FIRST visit was less than 2 minutes. I was so angry when I saw how little effort was put into hanging out in my apartment to assure Pip that it was safe to come out and receive some affection. I was traveling and got the notifications that they had fed her, but didn't see how short of a time was spent until I was able to log in to the app on the third day. On their 4th and last visit, I had to monitor Olivia and Ryuta to be sure that they stayed for the full half hour after calling them out on their short visits. I had to babysit my petsitters. I was appalled to witness the two of them blatantly ignoring Pip when she was in an obvious state of distress- yowling loudly and running back and forth to try to get some assurance of security while they sat on the couch on their phones. For two people claiming to love animals and not naturally react to calm her down at that moment is inexcusable. It was extremely upsetting to watch my cat so stressed and vocal after days without actual attention or interaction from them. I don't like writing bad reviews if it's going to affect someone's livelihood, but if you're on Rover and your ONLY job is taking care of people's pets, I'm going to damn well be sure to speak up when something is not right. I’m disappointed in Rover as well and do not plan to use this app in the future. I did get a refund for the time that was not serviced but it's too risky to put my cat in that kind of situation again. I don’t understand how the app would allow sitters to clock in such short visit times when they are supposed to be half-hour visits. There should be a better system in place to make sitters accountable. I think GPS should be used as well to determine if the sitters are at the actual location when they clock in. It's unfortunate but necessary when it comes to dealing with people who might cut corners. People can smile, post photos with their dogs, and use a lot of exclamation points to come off as 'caring,' but you don't know what you're going to get until they are with your own pet.

Olivia + Ryuta were so great! They were so flexible to add my dog to their calendar, day-of, all while truly caring for my fur-child so well :). I highly recommend them as they are efficient, accessible, communicative and kind!
