I grew up with a dog and it remains a favourite part of my childhood. Whilst I don’t have the capacity for a full time dog of my own, I have looked after dogs for friends both in my home and dog sat for extended period of time in their homes too. It’s great to have the opportunity to walk dogs or occasionally have them around the home. We grew up with a dog where treatment was always kind , fun and affectionate but training and behaviour was important as my younger sibling was still small, we learned to be firm and definite when giving commands for safety! I have looked after friends dogs since and even given them support and advice when they have found new puppies or over energetic dogs overwhelming!
