Your pup is family!

Pet care experience

I've always been surrounded by animals. We had horses, rabbits, dogs, cats, mice, rats (I know most New Yorkers will cringe but I loved them!) even a pet tarantula! (I'm from Texas so... we do weird things like that). My grandmother raised Shih Tzus, I worked at Foxy Pup Grooming, washing and drying all kinds of dogs, and my parents loved dogs. We mostly had pit bulls and shelter dogs, so I am very good at working with pets with anxiety, I'm patient with their personalities and love their particularities. I truly find it rewarding to spend time with animals. I'm an actor, originally from Dallas, and went to college in Indiana. I moved to New York for grad school, which I finished in May. No matter where I have lived, dogs have always been part of my life. I've always house sat and cared for my professors' pets and look so forward to caring for yours!! :)

Outside of being one of the kindest, most generous spirits I’ve ever met, Olivia draws animals to her in ways no one else has been able to do with my babies. I have a temperamental chihuahua, who does not do well when I leave town— and he slept under the covers with her like he does me. Most people can’t get him off the back of the couch, looking out the window, ready for me to come home. We also have what I call a “mess of parts”— a Beagle, Lab, and Pit Bull mix. She’s a 45 pound bundle of unbridled joy, and she often tries to sit on your lap or lie on you. (She reminds me of Andy Bernard from “The Office”: “Excuse me for bothering you with my friendship.” Sissy is hard to control, a runner, and just absolutely full of energy. Just being in the room with Olivia was enough to calm her down sometimes. Olivia has been gone from our area for either four or five years now, and it is terrifically frustrating to try and replace her. None of the people we’ve brought in, professionals or friends, have been able to take care of Pablo, our chihuahua, as well as she did. Perhaps most frustrating to my husband, that includes him: I was in the hospital for three months and Pablo wouldn’t eat until they finally allowed him to come see me. Olivia actually did better with him than our actual family does. That’s insane. You’d be lucky to meet Olivia in any context, but your pups will be grateful, too.
