Pet care experience
I've had dog's in my life ever since I was 6 years old. I grew up surrounded by them and have always loved playing and taking care of them. I find the bigger the dog, the easier they are to manage, although I do have a soft spot for Westies and I have a love for all dogs big or small. I've dog-sat many times for friends and family members over the years, ranging from multiple days to one or two weeks at a time. The most rewarding part of it all is the bond that I make with the dogs in those times.

We booked doggy daycare services with Oliver for our dog Puffin who suffers with separation anxiety. Although he was nervous being dropped off, Oliver made sure to settle our pup and make him comfortable. I received photos during the day of Puffin relaxing and out on a couple of walks. Puffin came home happy and tired after a great day. I look forward to booking with Oliver again and would recommend him for doggy daycare services.

I live in a dog-friendly apartment that is close to the Olympic Village Off Leash Dog Park as well as Jonathan Rogers Park. Here they can relax and stretch their legs comfortably after a long walk/run and are beside an outdoor area where they can do their weewees and poopoos 😅 If requested, I am happy to come and meet you and your dog ahead of time as a way to introduce myself in person so you can have a better sense of trust with me. This is free of charge. I send photos and updates of your dog/dogs as they are out with me and am happy to do video calls on request to show you the dog in the moment if you want.

Let me know ahead of time if there are any special requirements for your dog like behaviours or special needs, like certain environmental conditions or items they always need with them to feel relaxed. My preference is for breeds that aren't aggressive, ones that can chill out and sit by my side after some exercise or need a bit of reassurance that they're safe. If your dog is somewhat aggressive, do let me know so I can be prepared for any potential scuffles while taking care of them.
A typical day
I love to keep a dog happy with physical exercise as well as social activity with other dogs. There is a dog park near my apartment that I can bring them to to run around off leash and bring them for walks along the sea wall of False Creek. If your dog is not very social, I'm happy to also have them come with me to a café and chill out, or even just to relax back at my apartment if they'd prefer to have a more quiet time where I can focus purely on them and their needs. If they require toys or games, do let me know! I'm happy to oblige for any and all needs of a dog.

Availability
I work in an office near my apartment and my hours are flexible so I am free to take care of your dog/dogs during the week as long as I have a couple of days notice in advance. Mornings/afternoons are preferable for dog-sitting.
