Hey, I'm Ny! I'm a native New Yorker - it's practically my name - and I am a multidisciplinary artist, advocate, and of course: animal lover! I currently own a family of guinea pigs and Angel, a sassy, geriatric Shih Tzu that I have had since I was about eight. I once also rescued a stray Bulldog (who I named Serenity) off the street when I was 13. Brief backstory on that: I watched Cesar Milan's show as a kid so I knew to approach this Serenity - at the time, abandoned, tied to a pole with rope - by crouching low and with caution. I monitored her attitude and allowed her to sniff me, which was gifted with a tentative but grateful hand lick. She passed away a few years later but that was a rewarding moment in my pet-owning life. The experience itself is a testament to my love for these benevolent-souled creatures. This love for animals stems from the fact that I strive to make them the priority. I always had a voracious appetite for learning about the animal kingdom (I should've been born Bindi Irwin), and this is why I'm prepared for work like this today! My pet care experience ranges from rodents (like hamsters) to canines and I hope to expand species in my later life. I genuinely want whatever creature that is in my care to be happy. After all, that's what a caretaker signs up for. There's a reason this animal has entered your life thus whether owner or caretaker, it is crucial that their needs - physiological or emotional - are met! I am belly-rubber and treat-giver but will also speak to your furry pal as if they're a good friend - or a plant (I thrive in nature; plants are just as "alive" and important!). My point is, your pet matters and has feelings/needs too which I both comprehend and wish to nurture! My intuitive nature, general knowledge of various species, decade+ years of experience with canines/felines/rodents, and my inclination to research or ask what I'm unsure of makes me more than equipped to cater to any creature's needs.
