Pet care experience
Hi! I’m Nova I’m located in Wakefield, having moved from London in 2022, where I worked in kennels at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home for just over 5 years. I now run my own business - SuperNova Pet Care! I’m 38 and have worked professionally with animals for over 15 years in various roles, and while at Battersea I had a reputation for helping scared dogs come out of their shells, which just so happened to be my favourite part of the job! I’m a firm believer in treating every animal as an individual and am skilled at identifying the needs of the animals in my care. You won’t see me walking an entire pack of dogs from different households together, because I want to give each animal the attention and care they need and deserve. What you will see me doing is meeting your pets where they are and tailoring my approach with patience and kindness. The ultimate goal for me is to make sure your fur babies have a great time. I’m not happy until they’re happy! Over the years I’ve worked with thousands of animals, from the happy-go-lucky well-socialised pets, to former street dogs and feral cats, sick and frightened veterinary patients, shut down or fear-aggressive dogs, and dogs that would eventually go on to become working dogs for security firms, in prisons etc. I’ve also been fortunate enough to have worked alongside some amazing vets, nurses, behaviourists and carers, and from them picked up many of the things I consider valuable and now put into practise. Fully insured and DBS checked. In addition to my patient and compassionate attitude, I have experience with and knowledge of: - Loose-lead walking - T-touch basics - Pharmacognosy basics (aromatherapy) - Reward-based behaviour modification - Safe and effective handling techniques and equipment - Reading body language - Enrichment - Breed traits - Some basic nursing skills - Hygiene and infection control - Senior care - Puppy socialisation - First aid and CPR
Reviews
Impressed with the attention she has been giving to our sprocker. My dog has a lot of energy, but had recently refused to go walking with our previous dog walker. Nora has taken her time to build up trust between the 2 of them. He definitely looks to be enjoying her visits
We booked Nova for a second time to look after our rescue dog Duke. They are reliable, professional and send regular updates with photos! Nothing is too much trouble for Nova, we know we are leaving Duke in safe hands and will book Nova again in future! ☺️
Our dog Ralph has started walks with Nova this week and we couldn’t be more pleased, the process has been so easy and Ralph is visibly really enjoying his walks! This has taken a lot of stress away from us as now we know Ralph is in good hands when we can’t be there. Thank you Nova!
So happy we found Nova, extremely professional, knowledgeable and reliable, everything you want in a dog walker

Information Nova C. would like to know about your pet
In order to give your pets the best possible experience, and to ensure everyone’s safety, it’s important that you let me know about any medical or behavioural issues. I’m willing to work with fearful or reactive animals, or those with higher care needs, and transparency allows me to judge whether my skill set is a good fit for your pet.
A typical day
The way I interact with your pets will depend entirely on what they like to do! I have plenty of experience providing physical and mental stimulation for animals, and believe both are just as important as each other. I like to walk dogs in places that provide lots of enrichment, so anywhere with good smells, things to look at and explore, and other dogs to socialise with if that’s what they like to do.
