1:1 Quality Care :) Home Full Time

Pet care experience

Hello! Use Code "NORAC53762" to get $20 off of your very first booking on Rover.com! Please note that I requested and paid for the extended background check done by Rover.com, to show my seriousness in caring for your pet. During the stay with me, their well-being is my top priority! Seriously, my husband can fend for himself ;) We board only 1 family’s dog(s) or cat(s) at a time. Or dogs/cats that already know each other; friends or family going on vacation or a weekend trip together, that type of thing. If your dog(s) experience any degree of separation anxiety, I have limitless patience with animals and use a few different tactics that will ease their nervousness and make the stay better and better as we go through each day. Thoughtful, personalized care...it's the only way I know how to do this. In the last 2 years, our family had to say good bye to 3 of our animals; It’s so, so, so hard to say goodbye and because of this, we are not ready to say hello to having our own dog. We do have one dog in the house right now, our daughter's Spaniel mix Murphy and 1 cat, Sheamus (mainly outdoor). Murphy is an older little guy who is very friendly with people and gets along with other dogs by ignoring them lol. He will never be the aggressor, he just wants to be left alone. We introduce on a walk and if I see that it's not working to keep them in the same space after that, we put up the gates to give the dogs their own areas. We would love to welcome your dog(s) or cat(s) to our home and take care of them with the same love and attention that we gave our own. My Hannah (Shepherd/Collie Mix) had arthritis in all 4 wrists/ankles, which gave me experience with giving meds; both oral and injections under the skin. I also used to give her gentle massages on her shoulders and back haunches for those sore muscles. Linkin (Boxer) was healthy most of his life but boy, was he scared of storms, poor thing. He would sit pretty much on my husband’s lap, the way a Boxer does! and we’d try to keep him calm as we could until the storm passed. In their better days, we’d take walks, play frisbee, swim; whatever made them happy and I'll do the same with yours. We want your dog(s) or cat(s) to be happy and safe while they are here with us, which is why I choose to only take in 1 family’s pets at a time. Customized care is what I love to do! Your animal(s) will get all of our attention the whole time they are with us. Once you request my services for daycare or boarding; we’ll schedule a quick and informal meet up at my house with you and your dog(s) the same day or next day (or if it's for cat boarding, I can come to your house to say hello as cat boarding works differently than dog boarding). This allows your dog(s) to sniff all over my house, get a little familiar with us and the different smells; that turns it into a positive experience when you bring them back to drop off for their daycare or boarding. It also allows us to chat about your dog’s background, habits and needs. If your dog has separation anxiety (or even if they don't), and enough advance notice, I would encourage coming by my house with them a few times before their stay, for a quick treat, just to say hello and get them a little more familiar with us and the house. This can go a long way into them having a better stay with us. When dogs come here, they are welcomed into our house, onto our furniture and into our hearts :) I learn each dog’s care routine and stick to it as closely as possible. This is their home away from home! You can bring their food, treats, favorite toys, their bed or kennel, anything that you feel will make them comfortable or we have some dog beds here as well as various types of treats and toys that they can enjoy. Short notice welcome, as long as I’m available of course; long or short stays. But please book as early as possible to ensure availability with me. I schedule to maintain 1 family’s dog(s) here at a time, sometimes there may be a slight overlap with pickup/drop off but the layout of my house aids to keep them separate in case this happens. We take scheduled walks 2 times each day, (mid-morning and after the sun starts to set) plus additional potty breaks as needed. I take each dogs needs into consideration on the length of walk. If we only need to walk in my backyard or go out for potty breaks, that’s ok too. Plenty of room for that! I text updates and photos daily :) CAT Boarding: Cats are obviously different than dogs so boarding works differently for them at our house. I have a good sized bedroom/walk-in closet/bathroom so this is where your cat(s) will stay while they are with us. None of our own animals will interact / come into our bedroom while they are here. Your cat is free to roam in this enclosed space. Litter box in the bathroom and food/water in the bedroom; accessible 24/7 but separated the way cats purrrrfurrrrr :) They will get plenty of affection from us or I will leave them alone; totally up to them and what they need/want.

I’m so incredibly thankful to Nora for the magnificent care my kitten alita received!! She took such good care of my girl. Giving lots of love attention to her. As well as daily pictures, videos and updates. Even doing a beautiful photo shoot of alita! Nora is the absolute best there is and I highly recommend her to anyone!

Nora is amazing!!! She sent daily pictures and even a video to us that really made us completely comfortable. She kept them on schedule and even introduced them to a new furry friend. I could not be more pleased with the care that she provided them while we were out of town. We had been so scared to leave our dogs before, but now Nora will be our Go to Girl when needing someone to stay with our pups when traveling. Thank you so much Nora!!! ???

Information Nora C. would like to know about your pet

Before boarding, I'll go over their normal feeding and potty breaks schedule, what meds to give (if any), any allergies and vet name and number, just in case. If your dog has never been around cats and you don’t know if they will chase, we will work with that and give it a try. We are already versed in how to keep them from accidentally running into each other. HOWEVER, If you already know your dog will chase a cat, please, please let me know ahead of time so we can talk about it and see if it's something we can sort out or not.

A typical day

We have a good neighborhood for walks; no sidewalks but there’s only local vehicles through this cozy neighborhood. I will participate in any activity your dog prefers; fetch, long walks, swims, naps, you name it. If you have a particular routine that your dog is used to, I am happy to abide by it; keeps them on their schedule and they'll feel more comfortable.
