Lets go for a W A L K

Pet care experience

I've grown up around dogs my entire life since I was a baby; from old Weimaraners, to young Mini Pinchers, I've been around them all. I volunteered at the animal shelter all throughout my high school years, learning how to provide proper care and love while building strong bonds with the pups. After that, I took up a job as a professional dog walker in San Francisco for about a year, walking groups of 8 dogs at a time, all which had specific, personal needs; I learned and worked individually with my fluffy friends to make sure all of their needs were met and to ensure they came back home tired, happy, and looking forward to their next walk with me. Now, back in school, I am looking for smaller groups of dogs to walk, board, house-sit, or check in with on a regular basis to build strong, personal connections with. My goal is to have your dog waiting at the door, wagging their tail, and stomping their feet when they know it's time for me to walk them!

Nolan has taken care of our 18 year old blind cat on several occasions. He was extremely conscientious and sensitive to our cat’s special needs, including changing out her pee pads every day. Our kitty as well as our house were in great shape when we returned. I wholeheartedly recommend Nolan as an excellent pet caregiver. As a bonus, he’s absolutely the sweetest person you’ll meet!

Safety, trust & environment

I have a safe, reliable car that I will be using to bring your furry friends back and forth to the park, hiking trail, or beach, whichever is preferred by their parents; I can also stick around their neighborhood or house if preferred. My phone and ringer are on at all times, as communication is very important to me; I will text during pickup, send pictures and an update in the middle of our walk, and will send a picture and text during drop off as well in order to provide real-time updates on the status of your dogs walk. As for overnights, I am a quiet guest, usually drawing, doing homework, or watching a movie, always showing the utmost respect for wherever I am staying and making sure both your dog and house are properly taken care of. For dog boarding, I live by myself in a cozy studio apartment in a safe, dog friendly building. There are no other animals, children, or smoking in the house, but it is next to a busy street, so if your dog is sensitive to loud noises, there is a possibility of it being a stressful environment. Let's chat and find out what the best option of service is for you and your pup!

Information Nolan S. would like to know about your pet

Your dog's safety, well being, and enjoyment are the most important aspects in my caregiving to them; before scheduling any service, I would like to meet your dog with you present, establish a positive relationship with them through treats, pets, or play time, and hear about any special needs or care they may require. If your dog requires any medications, I am able to administer oral medications through the use of pill pockets (or anything that you may use with them) and optical medication such as eyedrops. I am not trained in administering intravenous (injected) medications and therefore am not able to due to liability and safety reasons. Lastly, one of the most important things I would like to know about your dog is what they love the most! Throughout my experience with dogs, I've learned that almost every dog has at least one thing that they just go crazy for, whether it be treats, a special toy, a bell, or even a toilet paper roll! Knowing this is very important to me because it allows me to provide them with something that will ground them and put them in a happy, comfortable place if they are ever feeling stressed, uneasy, or negatively fixated on something while on a walk such as a cat, squirrel, or another dog. This also will allow them to associate me with a very positive, important thing to them which will help build the relationship between us even stronger.

A typical day

A typical day with me can consist of a lot of different things, all depending on what your dogs needs and favorite activities are. Personally, my favorite places to go for walks are on the beach (usually Ocean Beach), or through the forest in the Presidio. I generally tend to stay away from dog parks solely due to the unpredictability of other dogs that may be there, but if you and your dog tend to frequent a specific park or have a play group you like to meet up with, I am more than happy to take them!

Availability

I'm currently free almost any day of the week to watch your pups! I work another job on an as needed/requested basis, but unless otherwise stated in my calendar, I am available any day of the week. I am able to provide Walks (8am-10pm), Drop-In Visits (8am-10pm), and Boarding, and House Sitting all throughout the week. My preferred services at the moment are meeting pooches to walk or do drop in visits with throughout the week on an ongoing basis. My ultimate goal is to develop a personal, meaningful bond with your pup and become the person that's going to make their day and make their tails wag when they know it's time for me to pick them up!
