Lifelong dog devotee

Pet care experience

(Please note: I am currently unavailable for morning and early afternoon services, not including the services I have currently booked. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.) I consider myself a lifelong lover of pets, as I was born into a household that was always full of dogs and cats and am so grateful for that backbone of experience I was provided with early on. Some of my earliest memories are of playing with Amber the Irish Setter mix and Tara the Weimaraner. As I grew up, my responsibilities grew as well, starting with simple feeding and letting out, and eventually evolving into walks, training and medication administration. I went on to get my pet first aid certification from the American Red Cross and am fully insured as a pet-sitter and dog-walker, and have thousands of professional walks under my belt! I believe it’s not enough to just have a love for animals. Marrying that passion with training, education and the necessary tools to work with all types of breeds, sizes and temperaments of animals is critical when aiming to be the best in your field—and that’s what I am! As a person and as a pet-care professional, I am caring, respectful and adaptable—three traits that are absolutely necessary as a top notch pet sitter! I connect with dogs by using respect, caution and empathy as my general guidelines upon first meeting and throughout our time together. I know that every dog is unique and will respond to a new person a little differently. I make sure to take my time, get on their level and take as long as I need to in order to earn trust and comfort. When walking, there is never any hurry to get back inside (unless my client is on a strict time schedule) and I will do everything I can to ensure the pup gets her fill of the outdoors and has done her business. I work as a freelance writer in the evenings, which means my daily walking schedule is open from 3 – 10 p.m., and I’m happy to take on overnight visits as well. Thanks for reading my profile—I can’t wait to meet you!

Noah is attentive and LOVES animals. Our puppy Nola loves to see him and is always excited to get cuddles and a walk from him! Noah is very communicative and we don’t have to follow up or monitor as he sends pictures and keeps us in the loop of his progress. We are lucky to have him when he is available to us!

Information Noah A. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know what you’re looking for in a pet-sitter/dog walker. I would also like to know your dog’s usual schedule, usual walking routes, dietary needs, medication needs, temperament, size, breed and anything else you think I should know!

A typical day

If you have specific instructions, I will follow those precisely. While I can’t take pets in my own home at the moment, I am more than happy to come to yours or walk in your neighborhood of choice. My favorites include spots like Liberty State Park, Hamilton Park, Elysian Park, the waterfront areas of Paulu Hook and Newport in Jersey City, uptown Hoboken, Central Park, Riverside Park, Hudson River Park and Battery Park. I used to be a New York City tour guide and know all of the best spots to go!
