I grew up with a dog, a beautiful German Sheppard. We got him as a puppy and he died living with us. My husband's family had cats growing up and now his parents own a dog, Wilbur and our children adore him. Anytime, we go to their house (several times a week), he is happy to see us, but my kids are the most excited ones. Kids have been asking us for a pet, but I have not had one for a long time. So this is a way to see if we are still compatible with dogs. It will give me and my children a chance to care for a dog, have fun with him, and then take a break. Just like grandparents and grandchildren relationship :)
