Veterinary Student To The Rescue
Pet care experience
I am currently in my second year of veterinary school and have experience handling, giving medication to, and walking dogs. I have fostered dogs for the past 6 months, so I understand many different types of dogs (see my photo gallery for picture of my past fosters). I helped my mom train her German Shepherd and understand what it takes to raise and train a puppy. There were also two cats in my dad's house that primarily I took take of, so if you need me to check-in on your cat, I am happy to do so. Also being a veterinary student, I understand the necessary precautions that should and will be taken to ensure that I am not spreading the virus to you or your pets. I am currently working a 9 to 5 job, but I am an early morning and late night person and would be happy to walk your dog while you are busy or if you work nontraditional hours. I am very flexible. While I continue to foster dogs from the local shelters, I will not board your dog for the safety of everyone involved. On check-ins and walks, I will not bring my foster dog. In-between foster dogs, I would be happy to board your dog, as I am very familiar with the way different dogs act in a new environment, and I have a crate if that is what your dog is used to at night. I am a runner and would be happy to run with your dog if that is something they are used to. Because I am a veterinary student I will be able to promptly notify you if there are any changes in your dog.
Reviews
I appreciate Nisana being available on such short notice, Icho and I love Rover.
Nisana has been a fabulous foster for multiple dogs through our organization, Animal Welfare Foster Program. She is extremely knowledgeable in animal care and works hard to help dogs with different histories feel comfortable and loved.
I have known Nisana for several years and have seen her passion for caring for animals. Over the last year, Nisana has been a foster for the Animal Welfare Foster Program. She has cared for each of her foster dogs as if they were her own pet. She has worked to crate train these dogs, teach them basic commands, and takes a personal interest in finding each dog a loving forever home. She also takes time out of her busy schedule as a veterinary student to spend quality time and learn about the individual personalities of each of her foster dogs and adjusts her training methods and how she cares for each dog based off of its personality. Nisana truly has a heart for caring for animals and I would trust her with my own pets
Nisana is a truly lovely and trustworthy person that cares for all animals with every inch of her being. She has fostered many dogs from the local animal shelter and helped them to blossom into happy and confident individuals. Every one of the dogs she nurtures finds a forever home. She is wonderful with accommodating to the unique needs of each animal; from separation anxiety to cuddles at exactly 2:11 pm. If you need an affectionate and devoted person to care for your fluffy family member, be sure to call Nisana first!

*Dog walking* I would be happy to walk around your neighborhood, but I can also take your dog to a local trail if your dog is comfortable with riding in cars. *Drop-In Visits* For drop-in visits I do require that a meet and greet is scheduled beforehand. This is so I can get to know you and your dog, ask any questions about your residence and what is expected of my services. I want there to be no confusion so everyone is comfortable and on the same page!
Information Nisana S. would like to know about your pet
No breed preference, but I do have more experience with German Shepherds, beagles, Huskies, pit mixes, and cattle breeds.
A typical day
Dog walks can be around your neighborhood or a local trail if your dog is good in cars. I would be happy to run with your dog if that is something they are used to.

Availability
*Dog Walking* I usually take dogs on 30-45 minute walks, or if they enjoy going on runs I can provide 20 minute runs with 5 minute warm-up walk at the beginning and 5 minute cool-down walk after . I am aware of the signs of heat-related illness in dogs, and take care to provide water on hot days. I willing to walk small and large dogs alike. For multiple large dogs (50lbs+), I prefer to take them one at a time for safety reasons. Dog walks can be booked concurrently with a drop-in visit for an extra 30 minutes of play time or walking (whichever you would prefer)! *Drop-In Visits* My drop-in services can be booked concurrently with walking services. Drop-in services include feeding, playing, bathroom-breaks, medication administration, and similar services for 30 minutes. I am willing to take care of cats, dogs, and other small animals (including, but not limited to snakes, birds, turtles, and pocket pets).
