For the past 15+ years I've been fostering/rescuing furry friends (cats, dogs, ferrets, or exotics), volunteering for animal causes, learning about animal behavior, and providing pet services through referrals from happy clients. It would be my pleasure to be your pets companion and provide them with the highest quality care while you’re away or when I visit for drop-in services. I specialize in discovering ways to improve the lives of pets and their owners. I have experience with all sorts of animal breeds, personalities, quirks, ages, sizes, and medical conditions. I will find ways to entice your picky eaters, sooth stressed fur-babies, find empathetic methods to manage incontinence, and provide loving enrichment and mental stimulation. Adorable photos + detailed updates attentively documenting their moods, naps, cuddles, potty breaks, response to changes in food or routine; will be provided regularly to show how much fun we're having. **Please note, I'm Manhattan and North Brooklyn NYC based and not available for requests in other boroughs, Long Island, upstate NY, or New Jersey**

Niko is an incredible dog sitter. She goes above and beyond to care for her clients including our little Norfolk Terrier Bao. She is sweet, caring, extremely attentive and she always takes terrific care of our home. I could not speak more highly of Niko.

Niko is truly the dog whisperer. She went out of her way to problem solve when our little elderly dog, Scout, was crying every night while we were away and she would not give up until she found a solution - and miraculously, she did! Niko is the most caring person and a terrific house guest. She left everything pristine, in even better condition than when we left it. We will definitely be enlisting Niko’s services again and again whenever she is available.

I'll arrive prepared with: personal protective equipment** I understand how nerve wracking it can be to leave a pet in someone else's care, especially if its for the first time. I will go above and beyond to keep your pet safe, healthy, and happy, so that you can rest easy knowing your baby is being expertly and lovingly taken care of.

Some things I'd like to learn ahead of time are: 1. Which neighborhood are you in and what specific start and end time is desired for sit or 2 hr window desired for walks/drop-ins? 2.How do they respond to new people and is there anything I should be aware of during our walks/ play or our stay ( fear of big dogs, not like their feet cleaned, picky eater etc.)? 4. Tell me about their temperament, level of potty training, and bite/nip history. 5. ** Does your pet have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? 8. How does your pet respond to being alone for a few hours (2-4)? **Please let me know and book using the extra care/puppy rate for the desired service, if your animal/s are: not potty trained/mark inside/are menstruating or require more than 4 bathroom breaks a day, are destructive, experience extreme separation anxiety, require medical care, have biting/tugging/aggression issues, are to be sequestered from other pets, or any other reason which would require additional care and monitoring. . ** Please make me aware if you have video monitoring in areas of the home. I absolutely respect your wanting to engage with your animals while away. Knowing there are cameras in the livingroom, guest bedroom or bathroom for example will help me change clothes or shower safely and privately.
A typical day
During Pet sits @ your home: Brisk or gentle walks around your neighborhood based on their physical abilities, park visits, attentive playtime and affection, and compassionate training reinforcement to encourage healthy behaviors. I am always vigilant when watching and walking your pet/s. Walking dogs individually means they have my undivided attention and I would never leave them alone outdoors, allow them to eat harmful items, or do anything to put them at risk. I'll also provide many updates and pictures of your content furry friend while we snuggle, practice tricks, and go on adventures in your neighborhood. Exploring the outdoors and walking around the city is one of my all time favorite activities and being able to share that curiosity and joy of exploration with your pup takes the experience to the next level.

Availability
I'm a full-time petsitter and freelance software engineer, which means I'm lucky enough to able to work from home and spoil your furry friends around the clock. CARE RATES If your pet has increased needs which require increased supervision or skilled labor due to longer than 30 min walks, more than 3 walks (+ a before bed relief potty break) a day, discipline issues, notable aggression to other dogs/difficulty during walks, illness care/medication schedule, age, or being incontinent/an intact menstruating female/ a puppy/not potty trained (i.e. needing to be walked more frequently than 3x a day), or can't only be alone for 4 hours ( due to extra needs or an intricate daily schedule) they will incur my puppy rate/Extra care rates $200 per day (+ any applicable holiday, extended departure, or special hours request fees). Pets that can only be alone for for 2 hour stints or less (due to increased needs or based on an intricate daily shedule requested) will be charged my constant care rate of $350 per day (+ any applicable holiday, extended departure, significant medical needs, or special hours request fees). **Cats that require care during the work day or the specific sorts of increased care mentioned above will be charged at my dog rates. **If your pet can never be left alone at all ( alone less than 1-2 hours the entire day) I charge an hourly rate of $40 an hour or $450 a day. but I might not be able to fit them into my schedule regularly. I am flexible and willing to work with you customizing rates for your unique needs or more comprehensive partial visit options (for a few hours while you go out on the town). FINAL DAY RATE (SLIDING SCALE) I always provide the morning walk/care/feeding following the final overnight gratis (up until 9am). But charge a sliding rate if requested to stay later. Remaining until: - Late Morning (past 9am - before 12pm) is 40% of the day rate ‐Afternoon (12pm- before 4pm) is 60% of the day rate - Evening (4pm after ) at the 100% of the day rate. Start and end time range policies: My earliest available start time is 10am - 11am or any time after. My latest departure is 7-8pm EXTENDED TIMES (BY REQUEST) *Clients interested in extending hours of arrival or departure to times earlier or later than I offer standard services -Arrivals requested before 10am can be accommodated by request for an added Extended Scheduling fee, -Departures requested after 8pm can be accommodated by request for an added Extended Scheduling fee These fees start at +$60 ( but are subject to scale based on the number of extended hours requested (to cover additional labor) and Uber rates at the time of departure to ensure a safe commute beyond normal pet services hours. ( please note: departures requested after 2am or before 7:30 am will be billed a full additional sit day + this fee)
