I have grown up with 3 different dog breeds since age 8 and I have loved all dogs ever since. Time at home for me (they are at my parents) revolves around what I can do with my dogs and when, and I consider them to be important family members. My boyfriend and I have a yellow lab, Meeka, and she is our world. We love taking her for walks and going to new places to hike around with her. When I am outside running or walking and see people with their dogs, I usually acknowledge the dog first because I get so excited when I see one, especially if it wants a good pet! Dogs aren't just showpieces for a home or a family, they ARE your family and should be treated as such. All they want is your love in return, and I find it hard to believe that it would be a difficult thing to give back to something who would do anything for you, no matter what.
