Pet care experience
I used to pet sit all through college and after a few years off I recently decided to get back into it -- just to get some extra quality time with super cute animals! Most of my experience is with dogs and cats, though I have cared for a few birds, fish, frogs, and even a guinea pig before. This includes overnight care in the owner's home/apartment from a few days to a few weeks and up to 1.5 months at a time. Specific to dogs and cats, I have provided care for puppies, kittens, and seniors (who required medication and a little extra patience and care) as well as new rescues/fosters exhibiting feral/mild aggressive behavior, but I'm happy to work with just about any animal. I'm a fast learner and take direction well (and can think quickly on my feet) so with a little time and an abundance of compassion, your furry (or scaly or feathery) best friend will easily become my new buddy :)

Nikki was my go-to sitter for my pets for over 6 years, including 3 dogs, 7 cats, 2 birds, and 2 fish, plus the occasional temporary foster animal during this time. She regularly did both drop ins and overnight care in my home, from a few days to a few weeks at a time, and even helped leash train one of my newer rescue pups. She was on time for every sit, communicated with me throughout to keep me up to date, and showered my animals with an abundance of love. She always kept my home clean and tidy as well, often going the extra mile like doing laundry after longer sits, bringing in the mail, and watering plants. I felt totally comfortable and confident leaving my home and animals in her care every single time. Nikki truly is a member of the family at this point, and if I hadn’t moved away from the area she would still be my go-to for pet care. I highly recommend her to anyone in need of a pet sitter!

Like/dislikes, fears, allergies, etc. This helps me provide the best possible care for you pet! *If your pet requires constant care (i.e. cannot be left alone or without constant supervision for more than 3-4 hours) pricing will be adjusted accordingly*
A typical day
I love reading, hiking, and just enjoying some rare quiet time at home. If you have a pup that needs more exercise, I'm down for it. I'm currently training for an endurance hike and am happy to get in all the extra miles. Would your pup rather rather chill at home most of the day? I'm happy to do that too! We can play fetch or or other games, go exploring in the neighborhood, or just chill with a plethora of belly rubs, cuddles, and pets; I'm down for all of it.

Availability
Most days 100% of my time would be devoted to your pets care, from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed. I do occasionally have computer work that I do remotely, which will take a few hours of my time and focus during the day, or errands or other needs that might pull me away from the house for a few hours at a time, but your pets needs still remain my top priority throughout. Note: I work remotely full-time, travel regularly for work, and also tend to split a lot of downtime between Philly and DC, so I'm available for sits in both cities!
