Fenced Yard & Friendly Pup

Pet care experience

I’ve had pets my entire life. I currently have a 10 year old cat and a year old pup. I work from home and have a really good relationship with my pets. Both my cat and my dog I’ve had since they were 10 weeks old so I have experience with babies. I’ve taken a dog obedience class with Brandon McMillan online and use a positive reinforcement approach. I work from home full time so I’m pretty flexible. I live in the South End and I have a quarter acre fenced yard that is puppy proofed. I like to work sitting in the yard when it’s sunny, otherwise I have a great view of the yard from inside to keep an eye on them. If it’s too cold or rainy I have a lot of indoor stimulating activities like puzzles, bully sticks, pig ears, and training games to play. I want to work with clients who want their dog to spend time with another one so our pups get the benefit of spending time with different types of dogs. If you have a high energy dog nothing tires them out like a day of play with another dog! A tired dog is a good dog! My pup loves walks so I usually give my dog a long, at least an hour, walk every day at Seward Park on the trails if we don’t have a pup friend over. I can take your dog along too we just need to get them a long lead to join us. I use a dog led approach on these walks and let them enjoy the benefits of sniffing and exploring. It’s important to let dogs be dogs but safely on a long lead. I know my dog is much more satisfied and calm after a walk like this instead of me leading the walk. I can do leash training walks with your pup if you want though. It’s important to me to respect how you want your pet treated. Please let me know about allergies and/or any quirks about your pet so I can take the best care of them. My fence is very high and dog proof. Trash cans are in cabinets and the house is very puppy proof. We don’t have rugs or carpet which is also good for puppy training. All cleaning products are nontoxic to pets and I keep my house tidy to keep dogs getting things they shouldn’t have to a minimum. It’s muddy season in seattle so my floor has a nice paw print pattern on it most of the time. :) On walks I use long leads and don’t walk along roads. I take my dog, and dogs I hang out with, to Seward park almost exclusively. The trails are really stimulating for them and don’t have a lot of people on them giving us some freedom to take our time and sniff everything. The goal of my time here is to get my dog tuckered out.

Ellie had so much fun staying with Nikki and Dolly! Seemed like she really enjoyed the big yard to play around in all day. I got tons of cute videos too, which was super nice. I know Ellie is looking forward to her next stay already!

My dogs had a great time at Nikki's place. They were very comfortable and had a great time in her beautiful yard. Definitely going to work with her again.

Nikki was wonderful at hosting our dog Cachito. Cachito was ridden with anxiety after I left and she helped him relax while we were out. I received regular updates via phone on how he was doing which was wonderful. Will definitely book again!

Nikki provided a super fun daycare for our dog. She was easy to communicate and shared updates during the stay. We plan to book again with her.?

Information Nikki B. would like to know about your pet

Most important is if they can be with another dog. I can make arrangements for my dog to go to my boyfriends house if I need to stay at your house and they don’t do well with other dogs. I can’t take boarding clients that can’t be around cats and dogs.

A typical day

I take my dog on a long, at least an hour, walk daily in Seward Park on the trails. Otherwise I use doggy puzzles, fetch in the yard, and playing chase to keep my dog stimulated. We also do intervals of focused training throughout the day.
