I grew up around dogs and used to house-sit for my neighbor's Weimaraner. I frequently dog-sat for professors and other townspeople in Mount Vernon and Lisbon both during and after college. I'm capable of caring for large dogs, i.e. St. Bernards, and/or small dogs, i.e. Chihuahuas. I have administered medication in both shot form as well as manually down the throat. I worked as a dog handler at Pooch Palace in Solon, IA for a little over a year. I currently own a cat and have house-sat for multi-pet households.

For dog owners that have a fenced in yard, I let the dogs out into that yard for quick bathroom breaks throughout the day and guarantee at least two walks, one in the morning and one in the evening. If there is no fenced in yard, I still guarantee the two a day walk minimum and will leash them throughout the day for the fast bathroom breaks. For all animals, I adhere to whatever the preset feeding schedule the animal has to the best of my abilities. For cats, I am more than able to provide a quiet environment that allows them to feel safe around me. For all animals, I provide as much attention and affection as I am able to and as they are willing to receive from me.

Any behavioral tics or triggers they may have that would inhibit my ability to interact with them, any dietary requirements that I need to specifically be aware of, and any favorite toys or locations they have that I can make use of to engage them during my stay.
A typical day
I love to play with any variety of toys, i.e. fetch, tug-o-war. I will spend at least a few hours each day playing with or otherwise engaging higher-energy dogs. If the dog has puzzle toys for treats, I will make sure they are able to use those. I will try to take the dogs on walks that vary patterns throughout my stay that gives them opportunity to avoid rote behaviors.

I work 830am - 430pm in a work from home job in Iowa City. I presently own one cat but have a setup that allows me to leave for at least a few days at a time.
