Pet care experience
Growing up in South Africa I have always had dogs and cats of my own. I have spent many hours caring for pets, pet sitting and dog walking. I am a very active person, I the outdoors and I just adore dogs, so by combing all of these characteristics makes me a perfect dog walker. I enjoy working with all breeds of dogs and cats. It is very important for me to bond with the animal and understand their individualistic behaviour and be mindful of their needs and specific care they require. I would like to expand my passion for animal care and I want to work towards becoming a veterinary nurse in the near future. Throughout my life, I have always enjoyed being creative and I have a strong passion for animals, including wildlife and beloved furry friends. ​ To add onto my love for animals, I am an artist and create pet portraits and drawings and take pride in creating these art works, that demonstrate the emotion of the animal through their eyes and body language.

Nicky is wonderful with our greyhound and really understands dogs. She makes a real effort to ensure the dog is comfortable, healthy and happy on walks and always checks in with us. She is also extremely reliable. Highly recommend!

Nicky helped us house and pet sit on several occasions while we were away. She always did her job brilliantly and took great pride in making sure everything was done correctly. She was punctual, thorough, and diligent with all the house admin. She was also kind and loving towards our animals, treating them as if they were her own. Taking them for long walks and sleeping the night at our house was no extra effort in order to make sure they were happy and comfortable. We always returned home to find the house immaculate and that the animals had been well fed and showered with love and attention. Nicky's regular updates regarding our house and pets, was oustanding and put our minds at ease while we were away. I would recommend Nicky to anyone needing an exceptional and responsible pet or house sitter!
Nicky often walked our two dogs, a golden retriever and a Jack Russel, while we were away on holiday. She was always professional and punctual, and our dogs love her!

If I had someones pet in my care, I would make sure I check if the pet is on any medication and if so, what is the best way to give that specific animal their medication. I would make sure I fully understand the animal's feeding routine and be aware of the quantity of food given to the animal. I would also like to be made aware of the dogs behaviour and daily routines so that I can manage his/her care properly. I do not have any breed preferences, I love all types of cat and dog breeds.
A typical day
I believe it is extremely important for dogs to be active and have continuous exercise. If I was looking after someones beloved dog, I would take the the out on walks to the park, make sure the dog is adequately groomed, fed and given medicine if required and most importantly give the dog lots of loves and tummy scratches.
