Exceptional, Above & Beyond Care

Pet care experience

My name is Nicole and I have been deeply passionate about animals for my entire life. There is nothing I love more than spending time with them, and I can guarantee the highest quality care around, because I see animals for the highly intelligent, autonomous beings that they truly are. I grew up with several pets ranging from dogs and cats to hamsters and lizards. My connection with animals led me to begin dog, cat, and bird sitting for family friends and neighbors when I was as young as 8 years old. In the summer of 2018, I worked at an animal sanctuary where I cared for cats, dogs, pigs, ducks, turtles, chickens, and horses. My continuous exposure to a wide variety of animals over the course of my life has not only resulted in a deep understanding of animal care, but also in an intuitive ability to pick up on their emotions and non-verbal communication styles. Further, this experience has cultivated an in-depth understanding of puppy training strategy, senior/ disabled dog care + medication administration, identifying signs of illness, anxiety management, and more.

Our pups loved staying at Nicole's, especially given that for one of them, it was their first time ever being away from us. Nicole sent us plenty of images and videos, and was very responsive.

Nicole is an excellent dog sitter, our dog is an extremely active puppy who requires near constant supervision. Nicole worked with us to ensure our puppy was comfortable and relaxed during the duration of her stay. We were also kept up-to-date on our puppies activities through photos and videos! We will definitely be entrusting Nicole with our fur baby in the future.

Nicole is the best pet sitter ever. We have four pets- 2 dogs and 2 cats and she takes wonderful care of them all whether it is a stop in the middle of the day for a walk and playtime or for several days when we are out of town. I know she takes care of the pets like they are her own. I love knowing I can enjoy my time away because Nicole is there to make sure my pets are safe, happy, and well cared for!

I know leaving your animals with someone else is not easy, so I will be sure to send you photos and videos of your dog daily. I will also provide daily text updates on how your pet is doing. Since I am self-employed, I am able to keep your pet company for the entire duration of their stay, and ensure they are comfortable + well taken care of. - I provide bathroom breaks every 0-2 hours, or as needed. I have a large fenced in yard for dogs to play, run around, and explore, while still allowing me to keep an eye on them. - In my home, I have a wide array of toys, treats, and dog puzzles for further enrichment opportunities. - I provide daily walks in accordance with your pet's pre-established routine, as well as an additional complimentary 60 min run/walk ($50 value!!) for overnight clients. ** All dogs attending doggie daycare or overnight boarding are required to be up to date on all relevant vaccinations, and on some sort of flea/tick preventative (administered a MINIMUM of 72 hours before arrival) in order to maintain a SAFE environment for all animals.** - In the rare event of escape, I am well-trained in the correct methods for coaxing a runaway dog back to safety, without bolting or panicking. - I also offer care for cats and other animals for home visits/ overnight stays.

So that I can best prepare for care, and offer the BEST possible care, please notify me of any allergies, medications, or special accommodations ahead of time. Before booking a boarding stay, please consider if your dog gets along well with other dogs, as I have a pup of my own. (:

A typical day

A DAY IN THE LIFE A typical day with the dogs I watch can take many forms, and be molded to fit the needs of your specific pup. To give you an idea of what is possible... There is gorgeous lake about a mile from my house that I take all my doggie visitors to experience. The lake offers gorgeous views, flocks of geese, ducks, turtles, and all kinds of smells. There is also a fabulous forrest trail nearby. All in all, this excursion makes for at least a 2.5 mile walk. If that is too far, my neighborhood has a series of paths that connect to one another and offer a secluded, safe walking experience that can be tailored to your pups needs. In addition to walks, I often play games in my large, fenced in backyard with the dogs I watch. Typically, in the form of fetch with a tennis ball, or chasing/tag. After a busy morning/ early afternoon the pups usually like to take their mid afternoon nap. I allow dogs on my bed, but also have a couple dog beds they are welcome to use + any items from home you provide. There is usually another walk in the evening, as well as indoor playtime with toys, dog puzzles, and belly rubs. In the late evening, the dogs and I begin to unwind. Some dogs like to be held or pet during this time, while others like to take a nap and just be nearby. I believe that a critical part of making a dog feel comfortable with a sitter is making sure they are always made to feel that they are welcome in the sitter's daily activities. Therefore, even when I need to complete a mundane task while a dog is in my care, I always make sure to give them words of affirmation when I see them, encourage them to hang out with me, and allow them to join me in any room I am in.
