Flexible, friendly & experienced pet care
Pet care experience
I am an ex-pet care advisor, grooming assistant and nutritionist for all animal types including dogs, cats, small mammals, reptiles and freshwater fish. In my previous job, I was lucky to have attended many pet-focused events such as Dog Fest and Crufts to provide advice for owners across the country. I have a first-class honours degree in BSc Biology with a focus on adaptive behaviour and nutrition. I feel really confident in meeting pets for the first time regardless of their background - I’ve looked after puppies, elderly dogs and rescue dogs with tough upbringings and have formed a really close bond with all of them.
Reviews
Nicole looked after Cookie for just over two weeks, she has had the best holiday with her. Nicole took time to go for a few walks with us before booking, this enabled us to show her Cookie's routine and helped us be confident that she was good hands. If you are worried about leaving your pooch, I would highly recommend Nicole she is amazing ! She kept up with Cookie's routine and it's like she has never been away now home, we will definitely be using her again
Nicole came to take care of our cats and she was absolutely brilliant with them! They quickly took a liking to her (even the grumpy one) and we felt very happy they were in safe hands. She asked lots of questions about giving the right care, which was very reassuring. Would highly recommend!
Nicole was very knowledgeable and experienced, and immediately put us at ease when we dropped off Freddie. He had a great time and would happily stay again!
Nicole did a fantastic job looking after my dog Max, in my home while I was away. Max was so well looked after and was relaxed and happy on my return. Nicole made sure he had long walks and loads of attention. I would highly recommend Nicole and would love Nicole to look after Max again in the future. Communication was great both before and during Nicole's stay. I felt sure that Max was safe and happy while we were away.

I can stay at home with your dog for the length of the booking, and will walk them exactly how they need - whether it be a short walk or a country park hike. I can do paid extras such as nail clipping and deshedding and am first aid trained for both animals and humans. I don’t mind pets sleeping bed with me, but can also stick to other sleeping arrangements if you prefer! I am really cautious when it comes to the weather, so I will ALWAYS double check the pavement on particularly hot days and usually do long walks early morning and late evening. Please be aware that I have a German Shepherd, a kitten and two free-roam house rabbits that are generally locked away for the duration of your pet’s stay. If your dog is friendly with small furries, please let me know, as the bunnies love friendly dogs!

Information Nicole L. would like to know about your pet
- Is your pet okay with other dogs in the home from other families? - Are they aggressive towards or excited by small animals? - Are they toilet-trained? - Do they have any dietary requirements? - Are they allowed off-lead walks? - Are they good in public settings i.e. cafes and bars?
A typical day
Your pets can expect lots of cuddles and can get plenty of exercise as there is a trail next to my home for long walks. I can adapt to any routine your animals might be used to, as my work day is extremely flexible. I do find most dogs that I board play and sleep next to me during the entire work day, so they will never be alone!

NEW SCHEDULE: I will be working from an office in Leeds city centre on Tuesdays and most Thursdays from 11th December 2023. If a long term booking comes in, my partner or family will take over care during the daytime. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this and I’ll be more than happy to answer! I work from home 3/4 days per week with a lot of flexibility and can arrange my schedule to fit your pets needs. I can adhere to any diet routines or training schedules so your pets can keep up good behaviours and feel comfortable in a new environment. I do a lot of walking, so your pooch can join me for a walk that best suits them. There are lots of dog-friendly places in my neighbourhood, so your dog will join me basically everywhere I go!
